Sayonara 2016

The start of 2016 was marked with Pathankot attacks and after that their was no looking back at the bad stories of this year. Pathankot attacks, Uri Attacks, Rohith Vemula suicide after which nationwide student's protest was there against the government which give rise to anti-national debate after sloganeering in JNU campus Delhi, rise of Kanhaiya Kumar, this year also saw several terrorist attacks in Brussels,Berlin, Turkey, etc and the continuing struggle for life of people of Syria, if there was a fight for race to President's post between Hillary & Trump in USA so there was consensus on Brexit in Britain, Mohammad Ali,Jayalalithaa, etc left us this year.

An important part of India Kashmir remain in unrest after the death of militant Burhan Wani which still not came out completely from the tense situation. The demonetization of Rs 1000 & Rs 500 notes during the end of the year halted the nation which finding it difficult to come to normalcy in the near future, Vijay Malaya escaped the clutches of government and there seems less seriousness on investigations on the names come out in Panama Paper leaks, who can forget the picture of Dana Manjhi carrying his wife's dead body on his soldiers or of long queues outside banks after note ban. This year was full of troubles around the world.

But that doesn't mean there were no instances of happiness or togetherness. Free Hugs movement in America try to spread love in the wake of racial abuses, Rio Olympics and T20 Cricket World Cup championship brought togetherness in the world, ISRO successfully launched many satellites in space and world stood united in the air of terrorism. It was a mixed year we can say but we can always hope for a better year, for better future and for better conditions for mankind to flourish. Happy New Year.

Here I have made a video showcasing almost all the events of the year.

My List : Top 10 Hindi Films of 2016

This year saw many big releases, highly anticipated movies, controversial movies and many impact-full small budget movies but their are few which worked at the box office or really clicked with the audience. This year also saw many sequels like Rock On 2, Tum Bin 2, Force 2, etc but all of them falls below the expectations. Even some films in this list wouldn't be there if there are some better movies this year. Since I watched movies all round the year I considered it my duty to rate them according to my liking so I have prepared a list of top 10 movies of the year 2016. Feel free to mentions your favorites in the comment box.

1. Fan: Shah Rukh Khan in an as Fan was commendable. The work on his look and the character is possible with the actor of his caliber only and under a big Yash Raj like banner. Maneesh Sharma who is the director of this film showcased his range with it after directing the films like Band Baaja Baraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Shudh Desi Romance. I am anticipating bigger and better pictures from him after this movie. This is definitely the top movie of the year.

2. Dangal: As Fan belongs to Shah Rukh this one belongs to Aamir Khan only. No doubt this film is going to become the highest grosser of the year looking at the efforts of not only Aamir Khan but also the girls (Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar). It was believed after release of Sultan which is also based on wrestling that business of this film will be effected. Director of the film Nitesh Tiwari who is also writer of the film has portrayed the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and her daughters beautifully. Songs are different which worked well with the screenplay.

3. Sultan: Salman Khan film that too an Eid release is a sure shot formula for hit but this one was not cashing on only the stardom of Salman Khan. The film has a nice story, famous songs and shirtless-pants-less Salman Khan. Directer Ali Abbas Zafar found a new reputation in the industry after this film as his earlier two films Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Gunday was not much appreciated.

4. Rustom: I have chosen this Akshay Kumar staring film because it gave an interesting turn of events to a historical court case which paved the way for the removal of jury in India. Melodious music and promotions by the most fit star of the industry open gates of success for the movie. Tinu Suresh Desai is the director of this movie.

5. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Karan Johar directed film remain in the news for casting a Pakistani actor in the film. The actor who has only about ten minutes of role in this film gave it enough publicity to earn big at the box office otherwise film wasn't as good a love story as previous Karan Johar movies. The star-cast of Ranbir Kapoor,Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with the great music become one of the highest earner film of the year.

6. Neerja: This year also remained the year of biopics. This one staring Sonam Kapoor as Neerja Bhanot who saved the life of American passengers without caring for her life brought out this story of courage to us. Sonam Kapoor was fantastic in her role of Neerja. Ram Madhvani directed this film which receives both commercial and critical appreciation.

7. Ki & Ka: This film talks about the age old system of society where men are meant to earn money and women to run the house. This film staring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor challenge this norm of society and show the complications emerged from it. R. Balki directed film earn full marks for concept and performances.

8. Pink: This film also challenges the system of society meant for women/girls in judging their characters. Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer remarkably points out biased behavior of society while defending the girls who were molested by a boy but become criminals themselves. Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury displayed proceedings strongly in this content based script.

9. Udta Punjab: Udta Punjab with characters portrayed by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhat, Diljit Dosanjh and Kareena Kapoor Khan depicts the turmoil of drug affected youth of Punjab. Controversies helped it to get publicity but this film was a truthful depiction of events without blaming anyone for the drug menace in the state. Applause for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for their performances.

10. Dear Zindagi: It was a simple story of a complicated life of a character played by Alia Bhatt. Her life's complications solved by a psychiatrist played by Shah Rukh Khan. This movie directed by English Vinglish fame director Gauri Shinde gives you life lessons to remember for rest of your life.

Apart from these movies I would like to name some good films of the year which missed this list from slight margins like Airlift, Sarbjit, Madaari, M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story and Rock On 2. There are few movies which deserves mention for their subjects in spite of their low budgets like Chalk & Duster, Saala Khadoos, Nil Battey Sannata, Traffic, 31st October, Dhanak and Parched. I am disappointed by some 'Naam Bade Aur Darshan Chote' kind of film i.e Befikre, Kahani 2, Mirzya, Raaz Reboot, Mohenjo Daro and Fitoor.

2017 also has big movies waiting for us. I am excited about 2.0 (Robot 2), Bahubali 2, Raees, Jolly LLB 2, Jagga Jasoos, Rangoon, Meri Pyari Bindu and Tubelight.

My List : Top 10 Songs of The Year 2016

In Indian films songs are as important as salt in the food. Sometimes movies failed but their songs cover the losses and good songs many film-makers believes is a sure shot formula of a hit. I love songs and almost heard all the songs released in the year 2016. I have selected Top 10 songs of the year which I think are famous and popularized the films.

1. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) : This year too Arijit Singh remained top of the charts. This song beautifully summarizes the film and emotions dealt in it. Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics superbly works with Pritam's music. Others songs like Bulleya is a pop sufi song by the same duo in Amit Mishra and Shilpa Rao's voice. Channa Mereya is another song from this film which deserves a place in this list but omitted to accommodate other songs but this sad song again in the voice of Arijit Singh works magic in your ears. This album deserves all music awards this year because Cutie Pie,Break Up Song,Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, Alizeh are all good songs. Standing ovation to Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya for this great album.

2. Jabra Fan (FAN): Fan has only one song and that too for promotional purposes but this has become like an anthem for all fans to show their love for their favorite star. Sharukh Khan as Gaurav Channa's performance in this song like a die-heart fan has bring out the emotions of all fans for their stars. #FanAnthem is composed by Vishal Shekhar, written by Varun Grover and sung by Naksh Aziz. It was translated in many languages which sung by different singers to spread the craze around the country.

3. Jag Ghoomeya (Sultan): Again a Vishal-Shekhar song that tops the chart. All versions i.e Rahat Fateh Ali Khan , Salman Khan and female version are all hits. Everyone was humming this Irshad Kamil written romantic soulful melodious song before the release of the film. Salman's dance move where he move his hips laying down on the floor was also caught by his fans soon after it come out.

4. Dekha Hazaron Dafa (Rustom): Rustom has two beautiful songs that found place in my playlist of the year i.e Dekha Hazaron Dafa and Tere Sang Yaara. Dekha Hazaron Dafa has found a place in this list because of ear pleasing lyrics of Manoj Mantasir and tunes of Jeet Ganguli which comforts your heart. It is among the best romantic songs picturized on Akshay Kumar.

5. Ikk Kudi (Udta Punjab): Udta Punjab is remembered one for the controversies surrounding it and second for this song sung by Diljit Dosanjh. Lyrics by Late Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi teaches you how you can praise innocence of a girl. These lyrics combined with Amit Trivedi's music and Diljit's voice transports you into some other dimension where you feel the calmness, spirituality and the healing power of this song.

6. Lo Maan Liya (Raaz Reboot): Emraan Hashmi is the most lucky actor of the last decade with the kind of songs he got in his films. Every film of his whether it worked on box office or not has great music numbers; Raaz Reboot is the latest addition to it. Lo Maan Liya again a song sung by Arijit Singh (Music director - Jeet Ganguli) has entered this list but other songs like Raaz Aankhein Teri, Yaad Hai Na are also equally good songs.

7. Mirzya (Mirzya): Gulzaar sahab always surprises with his lyrics and in this song too the usage of words like 'Ye Wadiya Doodiya Kohre Ki' (Valley of White Milky Fog), Laal Chingari Ishq Di (Red Flames of Love),etc makes you wonder how he thinks about such analogue. It is sung by multiple singers Wadali Brothers, Daler Mehndi, Sain Zahoor, Akhtar Chinnal, Nooran Sisters that in the multi flavored music of Shankar Ehsaan Loy creates a passionate aura of love. If the movie has half the passion of the song it would be in the list of timeless love stories.

8. Hua Hai Aaj Pehli Baar (Sanam Re): Amaal Malik's music did wonders in many film this year. Sanam Re is a musical film having almost all melodious songs which are hit too. This song sung by Armaan Malik, Palak Muchhal, Amaal Malik and written by Manoj Yadav along with title track are more famous than film.

9. Soch Na Sake (Airlift): This song is an adaptation of Punjabi song and what a beautiful romantic song. Arijit Singh who has sung this song with Tulsi Kumar has become the king of such soulful melodies. Music of this song is composed by Amaal Malik and is penned by Kumaar.

10. Dard (Sarbjit): Sonu Nigam's velvety voice enhances the pain of this song. You went into the turmoil of character of Sarbjit. Jaani,Rashmi Virag has penned this moving song which is composed by Jeet Ganguli.

There are many more good songs this year and it was difficult to select only ten out of them. Some songs which I would like to mention here are Bulleya (Sultan), Darkhaast, Tere Naal Ishqa from Shivaay; Itni Si Baat Hai (Azhar),Jab Tak,Kaun Tujhe from M.S.Dhoni; Bolna and Ladki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chull from Kapoor & Sons, Sab Tera (Baghi), Sau Tarah Ke (Dishoom), Toota Jo Kabhi Tara, Khair Mangta from Flying Jatt, Tu Hi Hai (Dear Zindagi), Tum Bin and Dekh Lena from Tum Bin 2, Nashe Di Chad Gayee, Ude Dil Befikre from Befikre and Dhakad from Dangal.

Hope we listen more beautiful songs in the next year. Happy New Year.

Naive Traveler : Varanasi Trip

Varanasi Trip happened suddenly. I went there for attending a marriage where my brother have to go but at last moment he send me in the 'Baraat'. An extra day was there in the itinerary for all those who want to roam around in that ancient city. Our births were booked in Shiv Ganga Express, looking at the winter fog spare time was also considered for journey but fortunately train was on time and it gave me two days to explore the city.

Sarnath Stupa

Sarnath Complex with remains of monasteries there.

People in the baraat has planned for the outing on Varanasi ghats in boat for that extra day but when we reach on time I want to utilize that day too since the marriage was in the evening. I took an auto to Sarnath. Sarnath is a Buddhist pilgrimage. It is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence through the enlightenment of Kondanna. Later King Ashoka has developed Stupa and Buddhist Monasteries there. It is protected by Archaeological Society of India and things evacuated from the site including remains of Ashoka Pillar is kept in the adjacent Sarnath Museum.

Jain Temple

Sarnath Museum

A Weaver
80 ft Buddha Statue

Mobiles, camera, bags, etc is not allowed inside Sarnath Museum so they provide lockers to keep your valuables. Modern day Buddha temple is also constructed near Sarnath where 80 ft high Buddha statue is constructed in combined operation of India and Thailand. Singhpur, a village approximately one km away from the site, was the birthplace of Shreyansanath, the Eleventh Tirthankara of Jainism, and a temple dedicated to him, is an important pilgrimage site for Jains. Sarnath complex is peaceful and a good place to spend your time in the ancient history. Weaver's village is also in that area and there are shops where you can see the work and buy the things. I came back to hotel that day after spending around three hours in Sarnath to get ready to attend marriage in the evening.

Laughing Buddha in Budha Statue temple

Replica of Ashoka Pillar there.

Entrance of Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Dashshwamedh Ghat

Ghats from the boat

Ganga Flood Plain

Next day groom's relative from Varanasi took our group to Dashashwamedh Ghat. He booked a motor boat for us which gave us ride of the Ganga river and we saw almost all the ghats from the boat. Boat man rode us across the river in a beach type area which is actually the flood plain of the river. We enjoyed there and returned to the hotel to get ready for the train back to Delhi. I hope to go there again to see the Ganga Aarti which I missed on both the days due to unavailability of time. I also tried to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple but it was two crowded that all my time would have passed there. There are some Pandit agents which are providing direct entry from the back door. Ghats need to be more cleaned and maintained keeping in mind the ancient history of that place.

Don't Forget Aleppo,Don't Forget Syria

Don't Forget Aleppo, Don't Forget Syria

"Don't forget Aleppo, don't forget Syria" was shouted a suspected Turkish police officer after he shot dead Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov in an art gallery in Ankara. His act of killing is highly condemnable and he was shot dead for the same but what he said must also be the concern of the world for the sake of humanity. We must think about Aleppo and Syria.

The civil war going on in Syria has resulted in the destruction of one of the oldest city in the world Aleppo. Russian bombardment has not spared even the schools, hospitals and residential area. The conflict started in 2011 with demonstrations against the Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad. He was supported by Russia while USA is against him. So when the people of Syria started peaceful demonstrations against him which some believed were sponsored by USA were dealt with force from president Bashar-al-Assad. This conflict gets complicated when Islamic State captured parts of Syria and joined the protesters in garb of conflict. It gave upper hand to Russia to freely attack Syria to eradicate rebels and Islamic State terrorists. As a result Syria has become a conflict zone where people are evacuating their homeland to save lives of their families.

The ancient town of Aleppo has been destroyed completely in these attacks. The ruins of civilization have replaced once structure of human prosperity. The world is silent for this inhumanity. Some believes Muslims deserve this since they are spreading terror in the world forgetting that terrorism is now an organized syndicate which works for money. It has nothing to do with religion. The innocent children, women and men who are losing their lives in Syria are human first. They have basic necessity of food and shelter like any human being. The ignorance of world to the cause of those affected with such tragedies making them prone to accept the ideology of terror. They feel that they can make their voice heard in that way.

I hear people saying that every terrorist is a Muslim. But they forget that every oppressed around the world is also a Muslim. Be it in Kashmir - India, Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar, Muslims of Chechanya in Russia, Muslims in China where they are prosecuted for following their religion, Iraq and Afghanistan where cities destroyed in search of weapons of mass destruction which were never there, similarly there are many places in the world where Muslims get second class treatment from the majority or the ruling class. I am not saying that you get a license to kill if you are a victim but world needs to look with sympathy and humanity to the issues faced by these people around the world and try to find out the solution for the same. I am ending this post with the prayers of peace for the people of Aleppo and rest of Syria. #PrayForAleppo. God Bless The World

Death In The Lane - A 55 Fiction

A farmer in remote village of Uttar Pradesh went to withdraw money for her daughter's wedding to a bank nearly 100 km away from his village. Unaware of the announcement made last fortnight he waited patiently in the line to hear no money to give. Demonetization shock & worry seized his heart in the lane.

Note : This post is a faction inspired by many true events of demonetization death.

The Lady From The South

Jayalalithaa Jayaraman, J Jayalalithaa or Amma for her fans and followers died after 75 days illness in Apollo Hospital of Chennai. She was the stalwart woman politician of the southern India who elected as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu five times in the span of around 30 years. As a leader of AIADMK the party which she got from the death of her political mentor MGR in 1989 she took the party to the apex of being the kingmaker in the central government. As an observer of Indian politics from years I have not seen the threads of tension on her forehead even in the difficult of times. One can always remember her always smiling ways with soothing expressions.
Her rise to the top spot of the party and to the post of Chief Minister is marked with controversies of being linked romantically to M.G.Ramachandran (MGR) or to her authoritarian behavior in disrespecting members of party and the opposition but no one can deny her hard word and reach to every single person of her state. Her schemes of mass appeal like that of Amma Canteen which serves food starting at Rs 1 along with other programs has made her darling of the masses. This is the reason for people thronging to Apollo hospital, Chennai from all parts of the state and were praying for her speedy recovery since 75 days. Many have lost their balances after hearing the news of her death. I fear people committing suicide or damaging themselves in other ways in 'Hero Worship' after her death as is the trend in southern India at the time of death of big leaders and movie stars. I hope people will act intelligently this time.
Jayalalithaa has also played an important role in national politics from many years. She was among the leader of the parties which stopped Modi wave in 2014 general elections when her party won 37 out of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu. She was the woman of courage and determination. Even after her removal as the Chief Minister for being convicted in disproportionate assets case she remained strong and came out powerful after her acquittal from Karnataka High Court to regain her position.
In this time of grief I can only pray for her and request her followers to maintain calm in the state of Tamil Nadu. May Her Soul Rest In Peace.

Chor Chor Mausere Bhai

If you think that one political party has done 'Banta Dhaar' and other is doing 'Sudhaar' than you are totally mistaken. They are the birds of a feather flocking together. Ab Kya Ho Gaya? You all must be thinking. The two big political parties of India namely Congress (I) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) become one cleverly to dilute the Foreign Contribution (regulation) Act , 2010 which restrict and regulate foreign contributions to any political party. In May 2014, the Delhi HC directed the government and the EC to take action against the BJP and Congress based on a PIL filed by the Association of Democratic Rights for accepting the donation from London based Vedanta Group. Both the parties moved to the Supreme Court to challenge this order and before Supreme Court could issue any statement regarding this the FCRA was tweaked down in the Parliament to favor both of parties. Gaye Bhains Paani Mein.

The amendment made to the FCRA act changed the definition of foreign company to make these donations legal in the law. Neither the ruling party nor the largest opposition party have no objection on the issue ; it is not even discussed by them in Parliament and on public platforms. They are 'Ek Thali Ke Chatte-Batte' on such issues. Now they have removed their appeals from the Supreme Court because they knew that law has become favorable to them. Moreover the amendment made in 2015-16 is applicable from the date of passing of law in the year 2010 gazab. Allowing foreign donations will result in making and enacting laws which will be beneficial to these corporate firms. I want to ask why these parties need such huge contributions when there is a limit set to spending on elections by the Election Commission. Hathi Ke Daant Khane Ke Aur Dikhane Ke Aur they all are sitting on similar sides as far as corruption is concerned.

The people today are standing in queues patiently only in the hope that Achche Din will come but the intention of political parties and the impact of their policies talking in different directions. Neither the terrorism, nor the fake currency or black money has stopped from demonetization which I considered as the failure of this scheme and government should think to roll back it soon. Kahan Se Kahan Chala Gaya it is not the deviation from the topic but the part of the topic since these parties specially the ruling party under Narender Modi is speaking frequently about the corruption in the country and that every Indian should come clean out of it but when ball falls in their own court they become silent. We common people are fighting with each other on the pros and cons of demonetization to prove our alliance to the honesty and betterment of the country while our politicians are busy in washing away their sins together. Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gaye Papiyon Ke Paap Dhote Dhote.

Ye To Aise Hi Chalega unless we started question the people in authority. We have to realize the power of the questions and avoid flowing with the tide. Hum Sab Ek Hain should be our motto not only against other nations but also against the evils of our own society. Khayenge Aur Khane Denge we have to stop them from doing so. God Bless India.

Government Approved Money Laundering Scheme.

Government Approved Money Laundering Scheme.

Modi government believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ since it has come in power ☺. Moving ahead on this mission the government has introduced amendment to the Income Tax Act in Lok Sabha on Monday for our dear black money hoarders who are experiencing sleepless nights after demonetization. Black Marketers who were facing difficulties in finding the way to convert their black money in legal money can now do this with government's help. Earlier they were either depositing this money in accounts of poor people with recovery period after March 2017 or were exchanging from some mediators or bank officials at the commission of up to 60% which means they are getting only 40% of their hard earned black money ☹.

Modi ji is known for his deep thinking before any of his quick actions. This idea also proving the same where the government is offering only 50% tax on converting black money into white and no punishment. Not only that 25% of that converted amount can be withdrawn at once and the rest 25% will be used for welfare of the poor. Government has promised that this welfare scheme for black money hoarders will also ensure confidentiality so that their names remain secret and they remain nationalist in eyes of the people. Those who feared for arrest or scrutiny for their black money are now feeling proud of being part of the development work of the government.

Sources among the black money hoarders said that this will boost their morale to accumulate more black money by tax evasion in the future endeavors which will further come handy for Modi ji in using it for the welfare of the people. Income Tax officers are also happy because they are hoping to get some incentives from black money hoarders while examining their balance sheets. The people standing in bank queues are yet to hear that news for busyness in depositing and withdrawing money. Source close to the government are sure for the success of this scheme after seeing the enthusiasm of their ardent followers on social media sites. Now people with ‘Illegal Properties’ are hoping for some similar measures so that they could contribute to the nation building.

For more information on this government approved money laundering you can download Namo App or visit government or Income tax website. The anti-nationals and traitors who were opposing Demonetization without seeing that it has halted the fast paced lives of people so that they can think about themselves while standing in bank queues or arrange their marriages through Facebook live are now criticizing this welfare of poor dear black money hoarders. These Modi haters will go to hell.

Naive Traveler : Delhi Darshan - Mehrauli

View of Qutub Minar from Aazim Khan's Tomb

Delhi is mini India in itself having experienced thousands years of history it stores marks of multiple culture and dynasty. You need about a month to explore Delhi completely. This was my fourth trip to Delhi Darshan (Delhi Sight-seeing) in first leg I visited Rajghat and other leaders' memorial, India Gate, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Then I have a wonderful experience of visiting Rashtrapati Bhavan in December last year. The third leg happened on Eid holiday this year when I visited Humayun's Tomb, Purana Qila (Old Fort), Red Fort and Jama Masjid. This time on Diwali Holiday I decided to explore less famous places of Delhi in Mehrauli area.

Today's Mehrauli which is in its South West part is ruled by many dynasties including Slave and Khilji dynasties and houses many monuments of that era. It was like discovery of that part of Delhi for us because three of us who visited there were new to the area having visited only Qutub Minar there. Somehow with names of some places searched in Google we first reached Hauz Khas Fort in Hazu Khas Village.

The old rock monument is near the deer park. Its entry is free and thus is a famous place for love birds. Almost under every arc window facing the deer park a couple was sitting and in the insides where some rooms are made they are getting little cozy. I will not recommend this place for family outings. The area around this place is so much encroached that it becomes difficult to spot it which should be taken care to attract more tourists.

We were clueless about where to go next when we come out of it because the places we searched on Google were not known to locals there. We saw a sign board of Rose Garden and walked to that direction. It was a garden without any roses but only couples of different age groups sitting under trees or on benches or on ground. Frustrated for not finding the desired places we decided to visit Qutub Minar to spend rest of our time. Qutub Minar was crowded and it was difficult to get tickets easily. We were hungry so we ate something and then started walking around that area. It was then I noticed a domed structure. We decided to discover that place.

It was Aazim Khan's tomb of seventeenth century build on top of a hill. It was neglected by the authorities and the people. No proper place to enter, staircase was broken and even the wild plants growing around was not trimmed properly. The view of the city from that height is beautiful. If governments maintain it properly then it could become a famous tourist spot. Adjacent to it was Ahimsa Sthal.

Ahimsa Sthal is a Jain temple having big sculpture of Bhagwan Mahavir situated on a similar kind of hill as Aazim Khan's tomb. It is peaceful and beautifully maintained by the staff and administrators of Ahimsa Sthal.

When we came out of Ahimsa Sthal, again we have no idea where to go. It was already 5 pm so we decided to go back home. It was then we found the dirty pillar stone with Mehrauli Archaeological Park written over it. I asked a flower seller for its direction and we went to that place. Actually the places we were searching from morning like Jamali-Kamali Masjid and tomb, Jahaz Mahal, Rajaon Ki Baoli, Quli Khan Tomb, etc were situated inside that park along with many more structures some of which are ruined with time.

Before sunset we saw only Jamali Kamali Masjid and Tomb which was closed for the visitors at that time and Quli Khan Tomb. There were no lights in that park which forced us to move outside. We saw some pre-wedding photo shoots happening there I think because its entry is free and you required no permission to do so. The Qutub Minar in the back ground makes it a wonderful destination.

Overall it was a nice experience and it felt that we have discovered Delhi again that day. These places should also be promoted by the Tourism Ministry and not just Qutub Minar, Humanyun's Tomb, Red Fort, Rajghat, etc. And before promoting these places government must ensure proper lighting and cleanliness of these monuments. Appoint care takers and other supporting staff in places like Aazim Khan Tomb and Mehrauli Archaeological Park.

Trump Triumph

Donald John Trump is the President-elect of the United States who will serve as the 45th President of America. He was also a businessman and a television personality. His acting skills were visible in his year-long campaign. The way he talked, the way he expressed himself animatedly and dramatically caught attention of not only American media and people but also of the people all around the globe. The winning of a man who is charged with rapes, misbehavior with women, financial irregularities and other such charges including spreading hatred for immigrants/minorities is not going well with a part of the media and large number American people.

Before going further let’s check these facts that only 50% people who are eligible for voting cast their votes and Donald Trump won 49.6% votes against 49.5% for Hillary Clinton of these total votes. It is also possible that those who haven’t cast their votes are against Trump that means even after winning more than half of American population is opposing him which is also visible in #NotMyPresident protest in all over America. Something similar also happened after 2014 general elections in India where Narender Modi became Prime Minister with only 30% of the total votes that means 70% didn’t like him as a Prime Minister. But imagine if we have such protests against Mr Modi then in our country 70% people would have termed as anti-national and demands to send them to Pakistan would have voiced from the BJP supporters.

This feature makes American democracy great where they have the power to criticize and oppose their President without fear of going to any other country or to label as anti-national.  The trolls there are not abusing and threatening them for life. The Media criticism of Trump is also taken as sportively. Considering his campaign speeches world is worrying about stability, peace and brotherhood but nothing could be changed for next four years there we can only hope he would understand the responsibility of his post and the repercussions of his actions on America and the world. Till next post God Bless The World.

Keep The Change

The decision to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes came as a surprise to the nation on the night of 8th November 2016. PM Narender Modi who was addressing the nation for the same also appeared surprised during announcement. Although he was not in his usual energy while delivering this speech his announcement energized the nation. I applauded it as a great decision which in a single stroke get rid the nation from counterfeit notes, black money and terrorist funding until the other side of it came in front of me.

Grocery stores, departmental stores, dairies, chemists and other such stores started shutting doors for people with Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Chaos was also created in the ATM's where large number of people gathered to withdraw Rs 100 notes. The machines were empty with Rs 100 notes quickly. Delhi Metro is also accepting lower denomination notes troubling the travelers even those with cards are having problem since recharges for them is not available in Rs 500 or Rs 1000. Banks are closed on 9th which troubled many people who thought to withdraw some money for daily uses. Daily wage laborers, rickshaw pullers, small businesses like mine, vegetable vendors and even wholesale dealers who mainly have cash transactions, salaried people and housewives started feeling pain of this decision in the morning when everyone discontinued to accept them. Those holding debit cards, credit cards or electronic wallets are able to transact up to a limit.

The new currency notes were also displayed by RBI governor. They are much beautiful than the one discontinued but now we have Rs 2000 note instead of Rs 1000. Will it not in the future become the reason of hoarding black money? Why like USA and Europe we can use only note up to Rs 100? Moreover for the common people who find it difficult to get change for Rs 500, Rs 100 or Rs 1000 getting change for Rs 2000 would be a daunting task.

Government should have introduced the new notes before discontinuing the old ones or prior information should be given to the common people or Rs 100 notes should be in plenty in the market. According to RBI from total cash circulated in the country 85% notes are in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 so the chaos created from their absence can be easily judged. I am sure long queues are waiting when the bank opens and new notes started coming out from them. News coming from all over the country is showing only confused people. The one without bank accounts are tenser to think how will they exchange few notes with them. It is still to see how much black money this move will unearth because I am sure those with millions and billions of such unaccounted notes must have the ways to regulate them also. Till anything new happens in this matter keep the change.

Love You Zindagi

Dear Zindagi,

It has been a long time we two are together but it’s never come to me to thank you for everything you did for me. Today I have got this opportunity to frankly talk to you and express my love and gratitude. Right from the beginning you challenged me continuously, even when I was unaware of what is happening around me I knew about the financial difficulties in the family due to restricted spending. I blamed you hardships faced by my family but I now know such are your ways to prepare us for the better days. As a family this period connected us strongly to each other inseparable in the toughest of times when nobody supported us.

I also want to share with you a secret that it is you who made me the poet/writer. I am an introvert who developed this way to express myself in poems and stories.

Cheden Hain Dil Ke Taar Tere Hi Sang Akele Mein,
Bas Tu Hi Bana Hai Sachcha Yaar Is Duniya Ke Mele Main.

I considered it the biggest gift from you. It helped me to overcome the loneliness, betrayal in friendship, the shock of the accident which almost took me near the death, losing father at the time when we are becoming stronger financially, there are numerous occasions including the frustration on the system and the society which I wrote in my poem. Perhaps I would be lost in the depression if you haven’t gifted words to me in my childhood. The power of imagination and the world of magical words changed my life at every step to an extent that I became the published author of two anthology along with the praises I receives from my blogs.

You know what you are hard at times and crushed emotions, endurance and all capabilities. Once with you I have faced a time where my self respect was shattered. I felt I am useless. Dear Zindagi your loving and caring side disappears at such crucial instances for which I hated you and will hate you in the future also. Sorry for being harsh but today I want no curtains between we two so saying what emotions I experienced. On second thought about tough times I have realized that you played a different role of a motivator during my struggles like a sports coach who when you falls kicks you to stand up and run again. You made me understand the laws of nature to repair recreate and recycle.

Giro Utho Chahe Phir Gir Jao,
Tham Ke Mera Aanchal Sada Muskurao.

As I said earlier I am an introvert who feels difficulty in expressing my emotions personally (I can express them in my poems and stories.) I just want to say ‘Love You Zindagi’ for building me stronger emotionally and for letting me enjoy this world fully. I know you cares about me but I didn’t care that much about you, so today I am giving it in written that I would love and care for you attentively in the coming time. You will never be disappointed with me again. Whatever be the conditions I will cherish you, thank you always. Bear me, be with me, Love You Zindagi.

Tune Manga, Tune Choda, Giraya Aur Sambhala Hai,
Pakadkar Haath Mera Har Kadam Chalna Sikhaya Hai.

Always Yours

My Way and Only My Way

That’s the motto of current government and the administration working under it. You are a nationalist, a patriot, son/daughter of the soil only if you believe in the ideology of RSS (Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh) which says that Bharth Rashtra belongs only to the Hindus. All the other religions namely Islam and Christianity came from outside and hence their followers doesn’t belong here. Interestingly their Bharat Rashtra constitute today's India+Pakistan+Afghanistan+Bhutan+Bangladesh+Nepal+Sri Lanka+Myanmar and they claim all of them. The Hindu Dharm for them is of the upper caste Hindus where Shudras or lower castes are at the bottom of strata. This ideology in the recent past say after coming up of Modi government has hold strong ground and targeting religion of others, others Hindus (Dalits and lower castes) and anyone who differs from their ideology like left ideology and secular ideology.

All RSS affiliated organizations are working hard for a Hindu Rashtra which is totally different from one imagined in our constitution. ABVP(Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad) which is the students’ wing of the BJP is also one of them. They engaged in duels, violent protests against left student wings which is creating tensions in many universities of India. Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) which is a stronghold of Left parties is their main target. They threw all their energy in declaring it anti-national during arrest of JNU Student Union president Kanhaiya Kumar and other left wing students after a protest in the university campus on Afzal Guru hanging. When this campaign failed after their release from the court ABVP students remain engaged in tussle with them.

In the recent incident ABVP affiliated students assaulted Najeeb Ahmad a first year MSc student of biotechnology inside the university campus on 14 October 2016. Since that night Najeeb Ahmad is missing. Delhi Police which works under Home Ministry is failed in tracing him even after 21 days. Mainstream media is still busy in creating Indo-Pak war situation in their studios neglecting the news of missing student. Her mother along with s ome JNU students is continuously demanding quick action not only from Police but also from the Delhi CM, Lieutenant Governor and from the Home Ministry. Police delayed the search operation at every stage. They didn’t search the campus initially and haven’t arrested the ABVP students who assaulted him. I fear for his life because even if he was kidnapped his kidnappers would have killed him in fear of revealing their identity. There is a possibility that he is hiding for some threats thus finding him becomes more important for police.

People elected Modi government for development, for the good days he promised and because he believes in welfare of all but the incidents happening last two and a half years proving different intentions of the government. These things not only affected the work done by the government but also malign the image of country in the world. I am ending this post with the hope that police find Najeeb Ahmad soon and things transform for the better of India. God Bless India.

Bhopal Encounter

Bhopal Encounter

8 terrorists open locks with keys made of wood and spoon to escape an ISO certified central jail. They killed a head constable also with plates and spoons without alarming other guards. They cross one wall with the rope made of clothes and another by jumping from it to ran away in the forest and jail authorities knew about the incident only at 4:30 when this all happened between 00:00 hrs to 3:00 hrs. Interestingly the four or five CCTV cameras on the area around their cells were not working. That’s the first part of the story now look at the second part. All terrorists were spotted at the same place and when police killed them in jungle they were wearing new clothes (when their clothes were used to make ropes) and shoes while remain in hiding for all that time. Police found only a brand new knife from them while they fired six bullets towards police.

If you question these stories full of loopholes and raises the issue of judicial & human rights of inmates you become anti-national for some. The videos made by locals gathered around the encounter site shows police firing when they were ready to surrender and then firing at their dead bodies. After hearing police version and seeing the videos I have following questions in mind:

  • How someone open locks with spoons and wooden keys?
  • Why authorities remain unaware about the incident till 4:30 hrs.
  • How police knew about there whereabouts?
  • From which weapon they fired at police officers?
  • What were other guards doing when head constable Ramshankar Yadav was killed?
  • From where they got new clothes and shoes?
There are many more questions like why IG police and Home Minister have different version of the story. Why police retort to encounter when Supreme Court disapproves it? The people who anti-national stones on those who are questioning this encounter first raise their voices for speedy trials of terrorist cases so that they didn't enjoy police hospitality in jails. Fake encounters for police is normal and in many cases they have been punished for misuse of their powers.

The police system right now is dependent on political masters. This has made them corrupt and also answerable to these politicians than to the public and the constitution. Police forces are used to set right their personal agendas of electoral gains. Such fake encounters, arrest of innocent people, release of criminals, etc happens easily because promotions, transfer in India is done by politicians and not by the police department unlike many foreign countries where there is a performance based promotions which make it possible for even a constable to promoted up to the rank of a commissioner.

The Bhopal encounter needs to be probed by an unbiased authority in a time bound duration. Those who were killed were under-trials whose crime has not been established by the courts. Their allegiance to the banned SIMI organization is also questionable. Indian constitution has provision for equal opportunity of justice for all which in this case has been altered by this encounter. The reason and circumstances of death of head constable Ramshankar Yadav should also be investigated and the bigger issue of police reforms should also be discussed and debated.

Patriotism On Sale

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is offering a great scheme for all those who wish to skip the police action against any hooliganism and goondaism. Raj Thackerey the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is the first recipient of this scheme. Devendra Fadnavis called him to his office after his party workers started threatening Cinema owners against screening of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil for having a Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. In a closed door meeting where Karan Johar was also present mediator Devendra Fadnavis gave go ahead to the idea of Raj Thackerey of depositing 5 crore Indian rupees by the film producers in an army fund in lieu of allowing Pakistan actor staring film screening in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

Kofee with Karan host was delighted with this handsome ransom saving him from financial and artistic loss. Experts believe this idea could be a game changer as parties like MNS & Shiv Sena could help contribute millions to the army fund since many film released in India are opposed by them regularly. MNS sources told that they now for the sake of the country would find more faults in the film to protest against them and then demand to contribute in the army fund which would depend on the budget of the film. Farhan Akhtar and Sharukh Khan who are the producers of another Pakistan actor Mahira Khan staring film appreciated this step and asked if they need to deposit this amount before or after the protest for their film started by MNS workers.

Sources close to the Maharashtra CM believes that he may extend this scheme for gangsters, smugglers and thieves by asking them what they demand for stopping their illegal activities and still look patriotic in front of the nation. Previous governments were criticized by those filmmakers whose films were protested by MNS and Shiv Sena then for not thinking about this wonderful idea. Better late than never, this scheme would be revolutionary in Indian context. Not only other states but other countries are willing to follow this idea thanks to Devendra Fadnavis.

Talaq Talaq Talaq

Talaq Talaq Talaq

The public image of triple talaq (divorce) comes mainly from the movie 'Nikaah' 1982 which has shown male actor divorcing his wife just by saying the word 'Talaq' thrice in anger. This film actually shows the misuse of it rather than the correct procedure of divorce in Islam. In practical practice also there are many such cases of triple talaq where maulvis (Islamic preachers) have validated these divorces which have raised the issue of injustice to women in Islam. It has also become the initiator for bringing Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and to target the Muslim community. The questionnaire on law commission's website mainly points out some Muslim practices in generating public opinion on the UCC whereas it should be an endeavor for common laws for all.

Quran termed divorce as an unavoidable practice and say to use it when no other option is available. In Quran 65:1 Surat al Talaq give a detail account of procedure of divorce. Saying the word talaq (I divorce you) thrice is considered as first divorce and there is a reconciliation time of three menstrual periods before pronouncing the second and third divorce which broke the marriage completely. Thus reconciliation period of around six months is there before marriage is termed as annulled much similar to the modern day practice of divorce in Indian law. There is also a condition that a husband can't divorce his pregnant wife. In case of divorce there are also directions on maintenance of woman and the children born out of wedding. The patriarchal society which governed mostly by men, the maulvis (Muslim preachers) who become the self proclaimed flag bearer of Islamic practices has manipulated this law to the comfort of man which let the women suffers. Some Muslim clerics in their ignorance and influence of money even allow divorce through Whats App messages, emails and through Skype which have created the bad impression for the community.

This should also be noted that in spite of triple talaq practices the case of divorce is less in Muslim community and the law of the land is applicable if anything wrong happened in the marriage or after the divorce. Those who advocate Uniform Civil Code (UCC) must call for removal of different practices of different religions for marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc and not just Islam. Right now the government has not proposed any draft for the civil code so I am unable to understand whether it will include abolishing of tax benefit to Hindu Unified Family, removal of Kanyadaan which portrays girl as a commodity with other gifts, Jain practice of Santhara will be criminal or not, the right of state governments to make laws in the related topics will be there or not after the UCC. There are many questions which are unanswered in bringing UCC and only triple talaq debate is put forward for its enactment. The current controversy looks more as a step to polarize the coming state elections than an endeavor in the way of UCC.

I have tried to elaborate triple talaq here and the controversy regarding the debate on it. Uniform Civil Code and Triple Talaq are two different issues bringing them together will only create confusion and fear in the community. Questions/suggestions are welcome in this post's comment section. Till next post God Bless India
