Enemy of Love

Enemy of Love

Ankit Saxena

Opposed to the marriage of their Muslim daughter to a Hindu boy 24 year old Ankit Saxena, girl’s family stabbed him to death in west Delhi's Raghubir Nagar. Girl’s mother, father, uncle and brother all involved in the killing were arrested. It is not a surprise that current socio-political environment tried to give this ‘honor killing’ or ‘shame killing’ murder a communal color by targeting the Muslim community. But the main focus here should be the need to concentrate on the constitution values which allows any adult male or female to marry his or her choice that was denied in this case by brutal murder of the boy. But such repeated incidents told that the society has not changed. The State has also failed to ensure safety of such couples in many occasions.
Last year we heard about the case of Hadiya a Hindu girl who converted to Islam by her choice to marry a Muslim boy. But again the communal painters gave it ‘Love Jihad’ color and girl’s family reached Supreme Court to separate her from her husband. Supreme Court who first gives custody of Hadiya to her college’s din later ruled that an adult person can take her own decision. Here again role of State and society degraded the constitution values.
It is not just the case of Ankit Saxena or Hadiya but we have witnessed many such incidents in the past where couples were killed for marrying outside their castes or faith by enemy of love. Most dominant is the state of Haryana where Khaap Panchayats enjoyed copyright to order death penalty to any such couple. Apart from Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc also reported such crimes. The research shows that not only in India, these crimes are also prominent in many parts of the world like Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Italy, United Kingdom, etc.

Love we say is the most powerful force in the world but that feeling is unacceptable by enemy of love who tries to overpower it by hate. Until government take strong actions against those who spread hate and fear in the society these killings will never stop. Understanding that no faith, no caste is above individual’s life is also important.

Kho Rahe Hain Taare Zameen Par!

Kho Rahe Hain Taare Zameen Par!

A four year old boy is accused of sexually assaulting his classmate who is also his age in school classroom and washroom in a reputed Delhi school. The news is more saddening than shocking looking at the age of the victim & accused. When Delhi police is concerned about how to deal with the case because according to section 82 of Indian Penal Code nothing done by a child below seven years of age can be considered an offence I am concerned about what prompted that child to do this.

Experts asserts that child of this age don’t understand sexual behavior than what prompted him to unbutton a girl and touch her private parts with fingers and sharpened pencil. Who is responsible for this behavior of a child? He must be reenacting something he has watched. So what environment we are giving our children to grow. Isn’t bad parenting also the reason for this?

Parents has full faith in schools and the incidents like murder of seven year old boy Pradyuman by a senior student and then this sexual assault by a 4 year old boy of his classmate is breaching that trust. If school promised full scrutiny of children either by teachers or help staff everywhere in the school premises than how such incidents is possible? How two students of a junior class left alone in the classroom and why no one noticed a boy in girl’s washroom? It is negligence & lethargy on part of school.

Parents & schools need to coordinate together in giving fearless, free environment to the children. I am still unable to understand why a 4 year child acted that way. He must be counseled and the reason for his behavior should be made public for other parents to understand their mistakes. The incident is disturbing for us as a society also. We are so much detached to our children to understand and aware of things going inside their innocent minds.

He is anyway a child. Does he understand what he did? Is giving any punishment to him solve the purpose? His thoughts must be scrutinized and the issue must be dealt sensibility. We should have cordial relationship with our children to know them fully. I am not a parent but still hurt and disturbed from this news and knew many like me would be concerned with this incident. This is a warning sign and we must take it seriously to know where we are going wrong as a parent, school and society.

Braid Cutting - Truth or Rumors?

Braid Cutting - Truth or Rumor?

Mysterious braid (choti) cutting incidents has happened in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi where women mostly around 50 years of age has their braids cut without their knowledge by some invisible source causing fear among women in these areas. Women also fell unconscious during the time of braid cutting which left them clueless about the attacker and made the incident mysterious. Police who have recorded the statements of victims deny any black magic involved in this which is rumored in the video circulated in social media groups. They are asserting that some miscreants are behind the incident.

The video allegedly claims that a woman is on a mission to cut 1008 women braids in order to get invisibility power according to a black magic ritual. I heard this news around a month ago from someone whose relatives live in Rajasthan. The incident was not in news at that time, I denied him saying that these are rumors or acts of miscreants and I still believe miscreants and anti-social elements has role in all this. Sad part of the story is that a 65 year woman who went outside to relive herself at night in a village near Agra was killed by people believing her to be a witch responsible for cutting braids.

We may know the truth in some time or the rumors die out a natural death but for the time being we need to remain calm and restrict ourselves in spreading any kind of rumors. This is second time in my life that I am witnessing such situation when such rumor mongering reached to national news debates. First time it happened in 2001 when rumors of monkey man created fear in people of Delhi. Then it was also proved to be a hoax and who knows something secretive has done by someone during the rumor period and the news was only to divert police & people somewhere else.

In this braid cutting news also there are more rumors than truth. One or two isolated incidents are hyped so much to create fear among women. People I have heard that started applying turmeric hand prints on their doors to keep away evil. Lemon-Chilli (Nimbu-Mirchi) was also hanged for the same purpose by some at their doors. Superstition in our country just need a chance to fly high and the incident has gave that chance. Hope the fake news ends soon because we already have many around to divert our attentions. Good bye. God Bless India.

Citizens of Tomorrow !

If frequent rapes, day light murder were not enough to label Delhi a crime capital and the state where the values of society are declining rapidly this incident of killing of a teacher by students will definitely do so. A student expelled for poor attendance by a Hindi teacher Mukesh Kumar (50) at the government school in Nangloi, Delhi had barged into the classroom to confront him during the exam around 5 pm. His friend, who was writing the exam, left his seat and joined him. The police say the boys "lost their temper" and attacked the teacher with a knife. They punched him, stabbed him repeatedly and then ran away, leaving him bleeding on the floor. He was admitted to hospital where he died due to his injuries.

Both class 12th students were arrested but they instilled a permanent fear in all teachers which have brought the beautiful bond of student-teacher under threat. We say that schools are temple of education which raises teachers to the position of god and see that's the treatment we gave to our gods. People are ready in our country to die or to kill for a god who is not visible but not even respect the person who imparts education and make us aware of the world around. There is hardly any respect for teacher's in today's students and those in board classes (10th & 12th) believes that there is no point in respecting teachers who will not check your exam papers. Such kids of class 12th becomes unmanageable and often threaten their teachers.

Our education system is responsible for all this fear among teachers and all the hatred for teachers in students. To score high marks is necessary instead of understanding what you are taught and if you are unable to do that you are a bad student. Really! Education decides you are good or bad? In current education system it is the duty of parents to teach their children to respect teachers and take their scolding/beating sportingly in a motivational way because they don't have any personal gain from success of students. Unnecessarily pressurizing the students interested in other things than study will only increase frustration and hatred for education and teachers. Some parents fought with teachers in front of their child in issues relating scolding by teachers or duties of parents. This encourage child to disrespect teacher because parents support them in all their wrongs. I used to hear from earlier generations that parents used to punish more if a student complained about teacher's scolding. This role has reversed now.

It is not right to hit students nowadays because they are sensitive than the previous generation but that doesn't mean they should be so touchy to feel humiliated if a teacher scold them in class and I think that's the duty of the parents. In the above case of teacher's murder we have many things to think like the temperament of students, no fear of police and law, role of parents, security of teachers in schools and the most importantly the value of bond of love and respect in student-teacher relationship. We all in our student life have hated some teachers but never thought of killing them for being harsh on us. An attitude of positivism should be there in the students to be better citizens of tomorrow.

Book Review : Ishq Mein Shahar Hona

Book Review : Ishq Mein Shahar Hona.

Ishq Mein Shahar Hona is written by famous NDTV Hindi News Anchor and Presenter Ravish Kumar. The book is published by Sarthak an initiative of Rajkamal Publication. In this book he has shared his feelings and experiences about a city in form of short stories or Laghu Prem Kahaniyan (Laprek). Vikram Nayak's art work for each story has enhanced stories for the readers. It is ironical that I am reviewing a Hindi book in English but I want to tell English readers to know about this experiment in Hindi genre. Moreover some English readers do understand Hindi but don't know what to read in it. This book is a good read for such readers.

Cover: Vikram Nayak's cover design reveals the Shahar (city) i.e Delhi which author has explored in this book. Delhi's monuments are visible in it. A couple walking on the road is an indication of lovers exploring this city in love with a different perspective. I like the title most it was the title which attracted me towards this book.

Content: The stories are divided into seven sections with varied number of stories in each sections related to that particular section. These are small stories of hundred or so words which gives you a hint of particular situation or surrounding to convey the story and the love in it. The writer's introduction of book is also interesting and gives you an idea what was in his mind while writing this book. These stories let you know how people become a city in love for love.

Comment: The author wants to emphasize on the point that there is no place for love in our cities yet those in love found their secret spaces to express themselves to each other in corners, in rallies, in monuments, in buses or on bike rides. I like the way how author has weaved shahar(city) in these stories. Stories are too small to be called even as short stories, they are for me situations which give readers liberty to imagine stories with these characters. Shortness left you bewildered in understanding some stories. But most of the stories are nice which reminds you of people you see everywhere in your cities. Vikram Nayak's illustrations for each story adds value and depth in them and are essential part of this book. The simplicity in language is the strength of this book.

Verdict: Must read to know How people become the city itself in love.

Rating: I would give it 3.5/5.

Delhi - Drive,Design and Connect

Delhi - Drive, Design and Connect

Delhi is a city which drives you crazy when you look at its age old architecture, feel its zealous past and peep into its mystical history. From ancient architectures to the modern marvels this city offers everything you crave for. The rulers which have ruled India from this city designed it in their own style. Even now in the modern times it is the center of all political and governmental activities. It was and it is the point of connect of people of this country. The special thing about Delhi is that it belongs to everyone. People from all states have settled in this city and has enriched it with their culture and traditions. I like it for its composite culture where a road (Chandni Chowk) having a Temple, a Church, a Gurudwara and a Mosque displays the India full of different cultures living together in harmony.

This city drives in you the real spirit India. No other city offers you the hullabaloo of news makers, the patriotic flavor of armed forces, the charm of ancient world, the charisma of modernity and a sense of power. The city in which flows the fuel of energy and enthusiasm of India. Since this city is driven by power it always remain a focal point of change which helped in churning our democracy for better results. (Remember J.P.Movement, Anna Movement.)

It is designed by different rulers at different times according to their own tastes and comforts. From Hastinapur to Indraparastha, from Tughlagabad to Daulatabad, from Mehrauli to Old Delhi and to Lutyens Delhi it is fully equipped with different flavors of architecture, culture and traditions. In a way it is a timeline of history of India. Most recently the addition of Metro Rail project which have joined, combined and connected different eras of Delhi have given a unique addition to its design.

It is a place which connects with everybody easily due to its diversity. It is this city where the phrase unity in diversity suits the best. You can have Goa's Christmas, Maharashtrian Ganesh Chaturthi along with Bihar's Chath Puja, if there is a glimpse of Bengali tradition during Durga Puja then you have also fragrances of South Indian festivals of Onam, Pongal, etc. There is a busyness of Eid' one road and buzz of Diwali on another. Similarly you have food here which not only connects you to India but to the world. Just ask for anything Chinese, Thai, Italian, Mediterranean, Mughlai, Hyderabadi, Gujrati, etcetera, etcetera and they are available to sooth your palate. Moreover since no one is from Delhi, this city is for everyone and besides feeling connected to traditions and cultures of different parts of India you feel connected to you country and yourself.

This city binds India together like Tata Motors which by providing different vehicle range is catering to the needs of every household of India. I sum up Delhi in words of Prasoon Joshi 'Yeh Delhi Hai Mere Yaar, Bus Ishq Mohabbat Pyaar' which means that this is the city which is only filled with love.

This post is written for #madeofgreat Zonal Wars by Tata Motors and Indiblogger.

One Patient, Three Deaths.

One Patient, Three Deaths.

couple with Avinash in happier times.

That's heading sounds weird because one patient means one death if he/she was seriously ill but one patient's death leads to two more deaths in Lado Sarai area of the capital of India, Delhi. The incident is another example of unsympathetic private hospitals which this time resulted in not the death patient i.e Avinash Raut a seven year old boy who succumbed to dengue on September 8 but also the death of his parents Laxman Chandra Raut and Babita Raut who jumped off from fourth floor of their building together and ended their life.

Avinash Raut was rejected admission due to lack of beds by five hospitals Moolchand, Max Saket, Akash Hospital, Saket City Hospital and Irene Hospital and when he was finally admitted to Batra Hospital his condition was deteriorated so much that doctors couldn't save his life. The doctors who treated him told that they could save him if he would have come 10-12 hours earlier the nine hours of which was wasted in searching a place in the reputed Delhi hospitals. Both central and state government have ordered legal inquiry in that issue because August 28 order of Delhi government compels hospitals to not deny any dengue patient due to lack of beds.

The Dengue fever is common in Delhi at that time of the year yet government remained unprepared which leads to hundreds of death each year. The attitude of money making hospitals at such a critical time add salt to wounds of Delhihites. There is no social awareness from both the governments on Dengue which become dangerous only if mishandled. The mere proper maintenance of fluids in the body along with the blood pressure is enough to control the dengue. The self medication using aspirin can cause damage to the patient. Only use paracetamol tablets for dengue.

The private hospitals which according to the Supreme Court's order must reserve 25% seats for poor often deny entry to them but in this case Avinash denied entry because his parents were not influential people or they won't have any extra money to throw on their faces. It is shameful for us that private hospitals are mushrooming in the city and government hospitals neither increasing in number nor increasing in facilities. Barring few all government hospitals have become place of attracting diseases instead of curing them.

This incident was heart wrenching where parents blamed themselves for their son's death to end their lives. Perhaps this was an uncontrollable situation but if hospitals' view towards the patient would be a bit sympathetic these lives would be saved.

Delhi Ka King Kaun?

Delhi Ka King Kaun?

Bhiku Matre didn't find any competition when he claimed himself the king of Mumbai in the movie Satya but here in Delhi the situation is different and the public of Delhi is confused about 'Who is the king of Delhi?' The problem they never faced since 1993 the time Delhi was granted partial statehood and held its first assembly election. We never heard news about tiff between elected CM (Chief Minister) and Central Government appointed LG (Lieutenant Governor). Their fights have made public servants directionless and people of Delhi hopeless.

Arvind Kejriwal who doesn't fit in the public known definition of political leader never in his election campaign speeches explained that he required full statehood before working on his poll promises. Either he was unaware of the procedure of working in Delhi or he was just luring voters at that time with fake promises. I am not saying that he is not doing anything actually I want to praise him for increase in education and health budget but the scenario he has created to expose the wrong doings of Modi government is not suitable for a person sitting on CM's chair. I am sure there are many better ways to handle the situation than to ridicule a constitutional post.

Najeeb Jung who was known as a sincere educationist and bureaucrat before being LG of Delhi has now reduced him as the puppet of Central government. It is an open secret that his actions are directed by Home Ministry and whatever hurdles he has created in functioning of an elected government are political motivated. He must resolve the differences amicably because at the end people matters the most in a democracy, the decisions taken by Mr Kejriwal wasn't for his benefit but for the benefit of the people of Delhi and raising objections to his every action is demeaning a constitutional post in people's eye.

I am personally not in the favor of decorative posts of LG's, Governor of states and President as they don't serve any help in the functioning of government instead I believe in a people powered body at that level with more powers to sign and decide for the bills send to them thus to make the process more democratic with the involvement of citizen. Anyways this is another issue of discussion now both the center and state government must understand that only people of the country are King in a democracy and their interest shouldn't hurt in their battle of supremacy. I don't understand why Narender Modi who fought a case against the Governor for unnecessary interference in government functioning as a CM of Gujarat now believes that Lt. Governor is the government in Delhi. Only Delhihites are Kings/Queens of Delhi.

Different for Differently-Abled

Different for Differently-Abled

It is not less than a miracle that we score gold, silver, bronze or even gets participation in international events in sports other than cricket in spite no funds and respect for these sports. How pathetic life these sportsmen lives is shame for us and now think of those who are differently-abled or the paralympic athletes. When officials and sports administrators couldn't cater the needs and requirements of normal athletes how could they give better treatment to those who requires special facilities and care.

It's a shocking tale of apathy, neglect and mistreatment of differently-abled athletes, and a national shame. At the 15th National Para-Athletic Championships, being held in Ghaziabad near Delhi, there are no ramps, no special toilets, in fact filthy toilets, very dirty rooms and grossly sub-standard facilities for the paralympic athletes. The story reveals the very sorry state of affairs in our sports administration and the mindset of the officials who treat the differently abled so shabbily. Even the accommodation that these para athletes have been provided is an unfurnished building in Ghaziabad.

More shocking is the fact that officials are defending themselves by saying that they have world class facilities when athletes are ridiculing them. It is not a new thing we have previously heard such incidents of mistreatment with sportsperson in various other events and the fact that they don't bother us is because these sportsmen are not cricketers about whom we are crazy and who earns crores due to our madness towards them while sportsmen from other sports don't even get timely salaries from their federations.

It is not that sports ministry don't have budgets for these sports but they are not very much and whatever little that they receive was easily digested or wasted by board heads and members who are politicians with hardly any knowledge of sport they are heading. It is better that we search websites like collegedunia.com  for B.com colleges in India or the Best Arts colleges in India which at least guarantee some respect after graduation unlike taking these sports which don't guarantee even that.

It is time to change the way we see other sports and more funds should be given to them for their betterment. Athletes of these sports are doing well without much government support think how well would they perform with a backing by government and their federations.

Triumph of Democracy

Triumph of Democracy - Part of India Series

Indian public for time and again have proved that public is the king in the democracy. No wave, no cult figure is strong enough to rule the mind of the country which after years of betrayal is no more ready to be dominated by any one in any way. These are the instances which keep alive the hope in the constitution of our country.

Delhi Assembly Election results with historical victory of Aam Aadmi Party have  reconfirmed the same thing. This is not only the victory of Arvind Kejriwal lead AAP but of the people of Delhi. The unbeatable Modi-Shah combination tastes a defeat after an eight month show of arrogance and one man leadership. The man who never falls short of words on any issue remained silent on his party's MP flabbergasted remarks against minority communities. He never spoke against  'four children remark' issue, 'Raamzado-Haram--do speech', omission of 'secular and socialist' from the preamble of the constitution, attacks on Churches in Delhi, Ghar Wapasi row, etc instead he flaunted Rs 8 lakh suit weaved with his name on it which was contrary to the image of common Chaiwala he projected before the 2014 general elections.

The connect he made through development agenda was lost after his swearing in as the Prime Minister of the country. He remained on a campaign trail building his international image during his foreign visits without any benefit for the country. People trust a person not merely for his great persona but also for the way one conducts oneself. The self proclaimed lucky man don't even realized that hundred of soldiers died in cross border firing and thousands of people lost their loved ones, their valued belongings in severe Kashmir flood after he became PM.

The mandate would be same for AAP if they fail in their promises to the people in the future. This Oh Yes Abhi! generation wants delivery at the earliest or at least want to see some work in the direction of that promises and not mere boosting of certain things you are doing. People say that Delhi is mini India owing to its diversity equivalent to the diversity of our country and that it gives direction to the nation by its action as in the past with Independence day movement, Emergency period, JP movement, VP movement, Anna movement, the fire ignited here spread to the nation. The recent Delhi Election coverage by foreign media also shows that world is also watching Delhi.

I hope that Modi government will mend its ways after these eye opener results and would not haste now to annul important policies and laws by previous government like MNERGA, land acquisition law, environment clearance law, etc. I also hope that Arvind Kejriwal's government would deal more professionally with the issues in Delhi and not with the quickness they displayed in 49 days. Till any big political historical event hail the democracy of India.

Relocating from one place to another is a daunting task and to think shifting to a place 2155 km away with all your furniture, electronics and other essential things seems next to impossible with all the things you have in your house. The cost to transport your household items to such a long distance would sure to destabilize your monthly budget leaving with less money to spend in the new city and the possibility that things would not damage during transportation is very less. This city is rapidly booming in every sector thus providing more opportunities than many other Indian cities for business growth as well as for those who wants better education in engineering and management owing to presence of high number of such institutes. Thus shifting to such a city would be a win-win situation in every expect, but as I mentioned earlier with all electronics, furniture and vehicles it would be difficult to think so.

Manipur's Mardaani

Manipur's Mardaani

A 70 year old man calls for a hunger strike till death gathers thousands of supporters in Delhi and a nation wide protest follows resulted in change of government as this caused backed by political forces for political gains. On the other hand a 28 year old lady started a hunger strike for injustices was arrested on charges of committing suicide and force fed through tubes. She is fighting for others through indefinite strike for 14 years now. She is Irom Chanu Sharmila regarded as 'Iron lady of Manipur' or Maingoubi ( "the fair one").

On 2nd November 2000, she began a hunger strike which is still ongoing. Her primary demand to the Indian government is the complete repeal of the AFSPA (Armed Forces (Special Powers ) Act 1958) which has been blamed for violence in Manipur and other parts of northeast India. This act is criticized for the inhumanity and dictatorship attached to it. Armed forces in order to control situation many times target innocent civilians. On pretext of this act soldiers rape women, hold mass massacre, allegedly detain civilians and so on. The people of Kashmir valley have similar demands for this act which also got unheard.

She maintained that she was protesting against a draconian law and her hunger strike would continue till its annulment. She advocated this cause also during her detention in hospital. She was released by the trial court on Wednesday ( 20th August 2014 ) after a trial judge found no evidence to support charges filed in 2000 by prosecutors in Manipur that she was trying to commit suicide by refusing food. If this is happening in independent India then how it is different from British rule where similar things happened with those on Satyagraha or hunger strikes for protests.

So many questions came in my mind when I think about this situation in northeastern India and Kashmir that why a law which is against democracy is enforced for so long ? Why the situation is still out of control? Is the power abuse by military in those areas creating more tension among the masses ? Why government changed but this law not repealed ? We may not find answer to these questions as our politics is excellent in hiding and manipulating the truth.

I salute this lady to stand and fight for the rights of others. My support is with her. I hope a day will come soon when she swallows down something from her throat. I also appeal both state and center government to look in to the matter with utter importance and find some solution to this as we are a democratic country and not a country ruled by military. We also have responsibility to spread awareness about her cause and not to neglect issues of northeast. Since PM Narender Modi showed her concern towards northeastern states during his election rallies I hope he would show some seriousness now also when he is in power and in the position to change.

Happily Married

Happily Married

P.A.S.S on Blogadda is very helpful in recollecting all my memories related to beard and mustache. This happened about eight and half years back when my family went to see a boy for my sister number three.  By the way I have five sisters. So the boy and his family have already seen my sister's photograph and liked her,it was now our turn. I was not among those who went to see him but they came back to respond after discussion in home. They brought his photograph to show to my sister.

When we saw the photograph along with the sister concerned we rejected him because he was bit fat and kept beard and mustache. She said ," I hate that smelly stubble." But those who met with him told that he was a good guy. My father told our concern to them that he looked elder than my sister through the mediator. He said that he wanted to marry only her and asked to give him fifteen days before making any decision.

After fifteen days he was thinner than before with a clean shaven face thus was looking younger also. My sister was married to him in 2005,they are now leaving happily in Delhi with two sons and a daughter.

This post is a part of the Protest Against Smelly Stubble Activity in association with BlogAdda.

This post is in response to Sarav's tag. I would like to tag Shetall Ramsinghani and Amit Parashar in this post.

Assembly Elections Analysis

Assembly Elections Analysis

Assembly polls going on in 5 Indian states concluded with end of polling in Delhi on 4th December 2013. These assembly elections hold it's significance in the fact that they arrive before Lok Sabha elections thus projected in the media as semifinals also there is a direct fight in four of these five states between two leading political parties(Congress and BJP) in India. These states are Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. Media coverage of these elections make the scenario more interesting with daily debates and analysis of the ground situation. These debates and analysis actually are confusing for the issues raised in them some of which are useless in state politics.

This years hot election issues remain corruption, scams,Narender Modi's projection as BJP's PM candidate, development issues, Rahul Gandhi's ineffectiveness, etc.  In Delhi presence of Aam Aadmi Party also made the fight more interesting.

My motive of writing this article is not to analyse the situations and then predicting the probable outcome of these elections ,it is better be done by News channels with opinion and exit polls( which usually go wrong but helps in maintaining the heat till the result day), neither I am trying to look at the impact of Arvind Kejrival, Narender Modi and Rahul Gandhi on these polls it will become clear on 8th December the result day. I am here to boost the other side of these elections a better side for our democratic setup that is the increase in voting percentage.

The voting percentage in all these five states have increased from previous polls to the extent that it has created records in those states. Delhi gave it's best with 67% voting,Rajasthan with 74.38%,Madhya Pradesh with 70%,Chattisgarh with 71% and Mizoram with 82%. Increase in percentage shows that more people are now taking part in the political system. These trends also shows that a big change will happen as more voting percentage implies clean sweeps as observed in previous state assembly polls. It also showcase the efforts of Election Commission ,it is because of their awareness campaign that people came out in big numbers, increase number of polling stations along with mobile polling booths encouraged more people in remote areas of Rajasthan and Chattisgarh to vote. Provision of NOTA( None Of The Above) button in EVM's (Electronic Voting Machines) helps in bringing those voters to vote who don't like their candidates.

Whatever be the result of this election but this trend will definitely make our elected members more responsible as people are becoming more aware of the power they possess with a vote. This will encourage better candidates more accountable to the people. I hope that increase in voting percentage in these states will also boost voters in other states to vote in big numbers.

                        Let's pledge to always vote,
for India not for currency note.

Common wealth starts today

It’s a historic day in the history of Indian sports. The 19th games starting today holds a very big meaning to India ,a country which is still thought to be a country of snake charmers by the people in the west is ready with the world class stadiums and a first ever green games in the world. The controversy surrounding the games is the result of the T.R.P. wanting news channels as the result of which many athletes backed out and world saw a very unprofessional and corrupt India rather than an intelligent and hard working country.
