Top 10 Hindi Film Songs of 2018

Top 10 Hindi Film Songs of 2018

If movies wise the year saw flop from some big budget heroes we were able to witness some good music in songs of this year. Heeriye from Race 3, Husn Parcham from Zero, Suraiyya from Thugs of Hindustan are some of the good dance songs from films which didn't do good at box office. Here is the list prepared by me to celebrate songs of 2018:

1. Dhadak (Dhadak): Ajay-Atul which were more to Marathi music than Hindi music whenever displays there talent here give their best. This song sung by Ajay and Shreya Ghoshal aptly expresses the emotions of young lovers. Music like the film is also inspired by original Sairat but works here as well.

2. Dilbaro (Raazi): Shankar,Ehsaan, Loy trio spread their magic once again by beautifully capturing essence of Kashmir in this song. Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Harshdeep Kaur and Vibha Saraf the song absolutely deserves a place in this list. Lab Pe Aati Hai rendition by Sunidhi Chauhaan is also good. Gulzar's sahab's Lyrical magic is visible in all songs even Ae Watan is a beautiful patriotic song.

3. Dil Meri Na Sune (Genius): Manoj Muntasir has penned beautiful Lyrics for this Himesh Reshammiya number sung by Atif Aslam whose velvety voice suits such songs best.  The film didn't work out well but this song and another one sung by Arijit Singh 'Tera Fitoor are melodious.

4. Tera Yaar Hun Mein ( Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety): Rarely we heard songs based on friendship and that too in this emotional way. This song is sung by Arijit Singh, composed by Rochak Kohli and the lyrics are penned by Kumaar. Remixes Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya, Chal Kudiye Ne Chal Ho Tayyar are also good. Bum Diggy Diggy Bum Bum become the party song of the year and Subah Subah is also good.

5.O Saathi (Baaghi2): Another Atif Aslam sung song which made it to the list. Beautiful lyrics and Music by Arko gave a romantic touch to the action movie. I would also like to mention 'Lo Safar' from this movie which also liked by me.

6. Paniyon Sa (Satyamev Jayate): Composed by Rochak Kohli and penned by Kumaar this song is sung by Atif Aslam and Tulsi Kumar. The song gives romantic relief in this action packed drama. It is melodiously sung and composed.

7.Qaafirana (Kedarnath): Something romantic and that too in Arijit's voice you have to like it and that exactly happens with this song. You suddenly fall in love with this Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi sung song composed by Amit Trivedi and lyrics written by Amithabh Bhattacharya.

8. Mere Naam Tu (Zero): Shahrukh Khan has many love songs featuring him but this one featuring him as a dwarf is special. Has beautiful lyrics of Irshaad Kamil and sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar. The song is composed by duo of Ajay-Atul.

9. Badnamiyan ( Hate Story 4): This movie has many beautiful songs like Boond Boond Mein, Tum Mere Ho, etc. This song is sung by Armaan Malik, penned by Rashmi Virag and composed by Baman-Chand. The hate saga take romantic turns with these songs.

1

10.Naino Ne Bandhi ( Gold): Akshay Kumar I think take interest in songs of his movies also that's why he delivers many good songs through his movies like this one sung by Yasser Desai which has music and lyrics by Arko.

Apart from these songs some others remain on my waiting list like Aaj Se Teri (Padman), Kar Har Maidan Fatah(Sanju), Naina Na Jodi (Badhai Ho), Aa Jao Na( Veere Di Wedding), Nainowali Ne (Padmavat), Tera Hua (Loveratri), Ziddi Hai Dil (Namaste England) etc. Hope we hear more good songs this year also.

RIP Kundan Shah

RIP Kundan Shah

Not all become like Yash Chopra, Prakash Mehra, Aziz Mirza, Shyam Benegal, etc who are famous and adored by today’s generation but there are also people like Kundan Shah who with one or two hit films has left an impression on the film industry as well as on movie goers. Kundan Shah is not known to the people of today’s generation probably because he didn’t have much public appearances in recent years neither he directed mega budget movies of 80’s and 90’s which telecast on movie channels regularly.

But you must watch the film he directed ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ (1983). This slapstick comedy will show you his brilliance of film making. Acted by respected actors Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Satish Shah, Pankaj Kapoor among others shows the corruption in politics, bureaucracy and the media. The film is evident for present time also. I can’t forget the ultimate comedy scene of a Hindi film i.e The Mahabharta scene in the movie. It is as they say nowadays ROFL (Rolling on Floor Laughing) moment. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is also worth mention among the film he directed. This film starring Shah Rukh Khan in one of the best character of his career shows the Hero the protagonist as a loser which is a rarity in Bollywood. Another film Kya Kehna staring Priety Zinta which talks about single parenthood is also a milestone in his career also among the defining role in Preity Zinta’s film career.

Later he also directed few more movies with Bobby Deol, Shekhar Suman, Priety Zinta, Rekha, but they didn’t work like his earlier movies and I think he didn’t directed any movie after that. He is also famous for directing Nukkad a famous Doordarshan serial along with Waghle Ki Duniya, both the serial were critically acclaimed as well as successful commercially. Everyone in this film industry gets what he/she deserves but we should respect each contribution which has decorated film industry with a different flavor.

I am also not remained his greatest of fans but his death as showed me his importance in the film industry with films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Kya Kehna which also compel me to write this tribute to him. I wish him a magnificent after life. Rest In Peace Sir.

Movie Review - Jab Harry Met Sejal

Movie Review - Jab Harry Met Sejal

I don’t often write movie reviews even though I almost every week watch a Hindi movie. But after reading many reviews about this film and then watching it forced me to write this because film is completely different from reviews. I think these reviewers watch lot of Hollywood movies to judge Hindi films whereas to review them you need an Indian mindset and sensibilities. I agree that Imtiaz Ali has done better film earlier. Till date Jab We Met staring Shahid Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor is still my favorite but this film also explore one more aspect of his direction. Movie released on 4th August 2017.

Marketing: You can’t have better marketing strategy than Shah Rukh Khan and in this film too his hard work in promotion is visible. The team (Including Imtiaz Ali & Anushka Sharma) visited many cities and TV shows for film’s promotion. Music along with the way singles are released also helped in promotion.

Music:  Pritam Chakravarty’s music again topping the charts. After different style of Music in Ranbeer Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos JHMS’s music was superb and apt for the situation. Irshad Kamil’s lyrics are meaningful and songs look good in the movie also.

Story: Harry (SRK) is a tour guide in Europe. The film starts with him showing different places to a group of tourists. Sejal (Anushka Sharma) is one of them. When tour ends all left for India except Sejal who insists Harry to accompany her in finding her engagement ring which she has lost somewhere during the tour. She then again visits all the places with Harry to find her ring and in the journey as happened in Imtiaz’s film they discover their different sides and develop love for each other. What happened to the ring? Will she return back to India for her marriage? Will Harry know that he started loving Sejal? What they both are seeking? Answers to these questions will lead you to the climax.

Review: Anushka perfectly portrays a Gujarati girl and they both are excellent in their job. SRK’s star power not overpowers any scene but enhances it. Have some elements which surely remind you of some earlier movies of Imtiaz Ali. Cinematography and screenplay let you room Europe by sitting on your seat. If their back stories were highlighted more that we have better connections with the characters.

Verdict: Experience a beautiful journey called life with true human emotions and sensibilities.

Rate: I would give 4/5 stars.

My List : Top 10 Hindi Films of 2016

My List : Top 10 Hindi Films of 2016

This year saw many big releases, highly anticipated movies, controversial movies and many impact-full small budget movies but their are few which worked at the box office or really clicked with the audience. This year also saw many sequels like Rock On 2, Tum Bin 2, Force 2, etc but all of them falls below the expectations. Even some films in this list wouldn't be there if there are some better movies this year. Since I watched movies all round the year I considered it my duty to rate them according to my liking so I have prepared a list of top 10 movies of the year 2016. Feel free to mentions your favorites in the comment box.

1. Fan: Shah Rukh Khan in an as Fan was commendable. The work on his look and the character is possible with the actor of his caliber only and under a big Yash Raj like banner. Maneesh Sharma who is the director of this film showcased his range with it after directing the films like Band Baaja Baraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Shudh Desi Romance. I am anticipating bigger and better pictures from him after this movie. This is definitely the top movie of the year.

2. Dangal: As Fan belongs to Shah Rukh this one belongs to Aamir Khan only. No doubt this film is going to become the highest grosser of the year looking at the efforts of not only Aamir Khan but also the girls (Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar). It was believed after release of Sultan which is also based on wrestling that business of this film will be effected. Director of the film Nitesh Tiwari who is also writer of the film has portrayed the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and her daughters beautifully. Songs are different which worked well with the screenplay.

3. Sultan: Salman Khan film that too an Eid release is a sure shot formula for hit but this one was not cashing on only the stardom of Salman Khan. The film has a nice story, famous songs and shirtless-pants-less Salman Khan. Directer Ali Abbas Zafar found a new reputation in the industry after this film as his earlier two films Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Gunday was not much appreciated.

4. Rustom: I have chosen this Akshay Kumar staring film because it gave an interesting turn of events to a historical court case which paved the way for the removal of jury in India. Melodious music and promotions by the most fit star of the industry open gates of success for the movie. Tinu Suresh Desai is the director of this movie.

5. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Karan Johar directed film remain in the news for casting a Pakistani actor in the film. The actor who has only about ten minutes of role in this film gave it enough publicity to earn big at the box office otherwise film wasn't as good a love story as previous Karan Johar movies. The star-cast of Ranbir Kapoor,Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with the great music become one of the highest earner film of the year.

6. Neerja: This year also remained the year of biopics. This one staring Sonam Kapoor as Neerja Bhanot who saved the life of American passengers without caring for her life brought out this story of courage to us. Sonam Kapoor was fantastic in her role of Neerja. Ram Madhvani directed this film which receives both commercial and critical appreciation.

7. Ki & Ka: This film talks about the age old system of society where men are meant to earn money and women to run the house. This film staring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor challenge this norm of society and show the complications emerged from it. R. Balki directed film earn full marks for concept and performances.

8. Pink: This film also challenges the system of society meant for women/girls in judging their characters. Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer remarkably points out biased behavior of society while defending the girls who were molested by a boy but become criminals themselves. Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury displayed proceedings strongly in this content based script.

9. Udta Punjab: Udta Punjab with characters portrayed by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhat, Diljit Dosanjh and Kareena Kapoor Khan depicts the turmoil of drug affected youth of Punjab. Controversies helped it to get publicity but this film was a truthful depiction of events without blaming anyone for the drug menace in the state. Applause for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for their performances.

10. Dear Zindagi: It was a simple story of a complicated life of a character played by Alia Bhatt. Her life's complications solved by a psychiatrist played by Shah Rukh Khan. This movie directed by English Vinglish fame director Gauri Shinde gives you life lessons to remember for rest of your life.

Apart from these movies I would like to name some good films of the year which missed this list from slight margins like Airlift, Sarbjit, Madaari, M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story and Rock On 2. There are few movies which deserves mention for their subjects in spite of their low budgets like Chalk & Duster, Saala Khadoos, Nil Battey Sannata, Traffic, 31st October, Dhanak and Parched. I am disappointed by some 'Naam Bade Aur Darshan Chote' kind of film i.e Befikre, Kahani 2, Mirzya, Raaz Reboot, Mohenjo Daro and Fitoor.

2017 also has big movies waiting for us. I am excited about 2.0 (Robot 2), Bahubali 2, Raees, Jolly LLB 2, Jagga Jasoos, Rangoon, Meri Pyari Bindu and Tubelight.

Love You Zindagi

Love You Zindagi

Dear Zindagi,

It has been a long time we two are together but it’s never come to me to thank you for everything you did for me. Today I have got this opportunity to frankly talk to you and express my love and gratitude. Right from the beginning you challenged me continuously, even when I was unaware of what is happening around me I knew about the financial difficulties in the family due to restricted spending. I blamed you hardships faced by my family but I now know such are your ways to prepare us for the better days. As a family this period connected us strongly to each other inseparable in the toughest of times when nobody supported us.

I also want to share with you a secret that it is you who made me the poet/writer. I am an introvert who developed this way to express myself in poems and stories.

Cheden Hain Dil Ke Taar Tere Hi Sang Akele Mein,
Bas Tu Hi Bana Hai Sachcha Yaar Is Duniya Ke Mele Main.

I considered it the biggest gift from you. It helped me to overcome the loneliness, betrayal in friendship, the shock of the accident which almost took me near the death, losing father at the time when we are becoming stronger financially, there are numerous occasions including the frustration on the system and the society which I wrote in my poem. Perhaps I would be lost in the depression if you haven’t gifted words to me in my childhood. The power of imagination and the world of magical words changed my life at every step to an extent that I became the published author of two anthology along with the praises I receives from my blogs.

You know what you are hard at times and crushed emotions, endurance and all capabilities. Once with you I have faced a time where my self respect was shattered. I felt I am useless. Dear Zindagi your loving and caring side disappears at such crucial instances for which I hated you and will hate you in the future also. Sorry for being harsh but today I want no curtains between we two so saying what emotions I experienced. On second thought about tough times I have realized that you played a different role of a motivator during my struggles like a sports coach who when you falls kicks you to stand up and run again. You made me understand the laws of nature to repair recreate and recycle.

Giro Utho Chahe Phir Gir Jao,
Tham Ke Mera Aanchal Sada Muskurao.

As I said earlier I am an introvert who feels difficulty in expressing my emotions personally (I can express them in my poems and stories.) I just want to say ‘Love You Zindagi’ for building me stronger emotionally and for letting me enjoy this world fully. I know you cares about me but I didn’t care that much about you, so today I am giving it in written that I would love and care for you attentively in the coming time. You will never be disappointed with me again. Whatever be the conditions I will cherish you, thank you always. Bear me, be with me, Love You Zindagi.

Tune Manga, Tune Choda, Giraya Aur Sambhala Hai,
Pakadkar Haath Mera Har Kadam Chalna Sikhaya Hai.

Always Yours

Below is the teaser of the film.

Movie Review : FAN

Movie Review : FAN

FAN released on 15th April 2016 is an Indian thriller movie starring Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. He is playing a double role of a superstar Aryan Khanna and his doppelganger Gaurav Chandna who was his Fan. Others staring in the film are Waluscha de Souza (Gauri Khanna-Aryan's wife), Sayani Gupta (Aryan's PA), Shriya Pilgaonkar (Neha - Gaurav's love interest), etc. The film is directed by Band Baja Baraat fame Maneesh Sharma who said that making this film was his only dream. It is produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.

Pre-Production and Marketing : News of film's release was in public domain from more than a year. Its release was delayed several times for VFX and special effects requirements. Promotion was handled mainly by SRK as he always did for his films and was visible everywhere before and after film release. From motion poster, to title designing to Fan Anthem to movie release , SRK's fan were involved on social media platforms which helped in creating buzz around the movie.

Music: You will be surprised to know that this SRK movie has no songs except the JABRA FAN song which was used for promotional purposes but is not featured in the film. Usually SRK movies' music set the stage for big release however this time it was done by a single song which was translated and sung in 11 different languages by famous singers of that language. You can say that a single song created as much publicity as the entire album.

Plot: Gaurav Chandna is a die hard Fan of superstar Aryan Khanna. He is known as Junior Aryan Khanna in his locality for his appearance and mannerism. He his mad about Aryan and can do anything to meet him. When he won trophy and prize money of Rs 20,000 at his colony's Dussehra function by performing an act based on Aryan Khanna's movies, he decided to show his trophy to Aryan after meeting him personally on his birthday in Mumbai. He reached Mumbai where he found himself standing among thousands of Aryan Khanna fan who wanted to meet him but have to satisfy with just his glimpse. Gaurav is not a ordinary fan so he did something which forced Aryan Khanna to meet him. This meeting turned Gaurav from a fan to enemy of Aryan Khanna. What he do after that incident? How Aryan deal with his obsessed fan? A thrilling story answers this questions and take you to a memorable climax.

Hits: We all know Shahrukh Khan is a great actor but director exploits his star image more than his acting prowess. This film yet again highlights his acting potentials. He has done a marvelous job in making Gaurav believable to the audiences. Director Maneesh Sharma has proved his worth in thriller genre as well after successfully directing rom-coms. You don't miss the songs while watching this movie and not even the SRK you know till know. I also like the action chase sequences.

Miss: I think some emotional scenes between Gaurav and his family or with his love interest would make this film more sensitive. Aryan Khanna's character is not much highlighted which bereft the audience of his psyche.

Verdict: This not just for SRK fans but for all those who has loved a star selflessly. Its a tribute to all Fans. Go and watch it now.

Rating : I would give it 4/5.

My List: Top 10 Hindi Movies of 2015

My List: Top 10 Hindi Movies of 2015

I am an ardent movie buff who has made it a duty to watch all Hindi movies. Hollywood movies lack songs, drama and the X factor of Hindi movies. Their hyped big budged movies have ruthless violence or unnecessary sex scenes or aliens and super heroes. Our movies are total time pass and that was my criteria of making this list. These movies according to me are full time pass, entertaining, meaningful in one way or the other and are having X factor. List is in order of their release:

1. Badlapur : This movie blew me with its performances. Varun Dhawan was totally different from what he was known for and the role performed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui remained with you after watching it. He is truly a versatile actor. The story was gripping and underlines a message that it is difficult to pardon but necessary for freedom to live.

2. Dum Laga Ke Haisha : The film captured 90's atmosphere beautifully. Ayushman Khurana and Bhumi Padhekar did full justice to their characters. The brewing of love between the two strangers by accepting shortcomings of each other is shown in an entertaining way by maintaining the emotional quotient of the story. I would rate it the best performance from Ayushman Khurana till date.

3. NH10 : Anushka Sharma was one of my favorite actress before her lip surgery which snatched charm of her face but this film shows that her acting charm has not gone away with her looks. She did a role usually unexpected from Indian heroines. The film keep you hooked even without songs and a male lead character which I think is the USP of this movie.

4. Tanu Weds Manu Returns: Expectations from Kangana Ranaut was high after her Queen performance which she fulfilled with flying colors for her performance as 'Datto' the Jat girl in the film. Director Anand L. Rai and script writer truly deserves the success of this film because sequels better than the original film are rare in Indian cinema.

5. Hamari Adhuri Kahani : Mohit Suri the director of this film has perfected incomplete love stories those love stories which don't essentially require physical union of lovers and which ended in death of either one or both the lovers. Awargee, Jannat 2, Ek Villain, Aashique 2 all were based on union of souls which Vidhya Balan summarizes in this film's dialogue, ' Usne Mera Jism Nahin Meri Ruh Ko Chua Hai,’ The flow of emotions, the tenderness of love and sacrificial love of Emraan Hashmi were the takeaway from this movie. Title song too was heart moving.

6. Bahubali : This film released simultaneously in Tamil, Telagu and Hindi language. One should learn the scale of grandness and vastness of imagination and execution. The story is similar to other South Indian films where Hero can do anything he wants but the grand scale and direction make it a blockbuster movie of this year. No other dubbed movie did business in Hindi cinema like this one and the question it raised still is without answer.' Kattappa Ne Bahubali Ko Kyun Mara?' I am waiting for its next part.

7. Bajrangi Bhaijaan : Who could have expected that Salman Khan would easily transform from his action image to someone who has so much innocence. He perfectly justified his role along with Nawazuddin Siddique who showed his comic side brilliantly. This film is about human emotions and love which is universal and that's why it touches your heart.

8. Drishyam : I usually get distracted while watching movies but this one was different it keeps you at the edge of your seat. The gripping screenplay and simple yet convincing acting by Ajay Devgn glued you to your seats till the last frame. A perfect thriller released in 2015.

9. Talvar : This movie changed the way I looked at Aarushi murder case before. Talvar in this movie refers to investigation agency which truly plays an important role in bringing true facts of a case in front of court. Irffan, Konkana Sen, has strong roles which they performed well but it scores high for his screenplay and direction so applauds for Vishal Bhardwaj and Meghna Gulzar for this wonderful researched film.

10. Dilwale : I have selected this movie only for Shah Rukh Khan. It has a weak story but an entertaining screenplay. SRK and Kajol's chemistry is the highlight of the film. Rohit Shetty knows best how to make a high earning film but SRK in his Chennai Express was far better than his Dilwale.

When I prepared the list of best movies of 2015, I shortlisted only 14 movies which shocked me looking at the number of movies released in this year I hope making above list would be much difficult for me in the next year than this year. The other fuor movies on my list were Manjhi - The Mountain Man, Phantom, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajirao Mastani. If I have to select the best film of the year I would pick Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Good or bad I will anyways watch them for love of Hindi Cinema. Films I am looking forward in 2016 are Airlift, Fan, Wazir, Raees, Dangal, Sultaan, Jagga Jasoos, Nirja , Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Azhar and Aligarh.

BJP - Bhartiya Janata to Pakistan

BJP - Bhartiya Janata to Pakistan

The ruling party of India always comes up with novel concepts to spread their ideas. After successful campaigns of Rath Yatra, Chai Pe Charcha, Achche Din, they have come out with another interesting idea i.e. Ticket to Pakistan to send all critics to government and its policies to Pakistan. They have partnered with Hafiz Sayeed in Pakistan who will receive the people send by them with open hands. When Hafiz Sayeed was asked about how he would accommodate Indians in already populated Pakistan he said that he was sending thousands of Pakistani residence to India from several years after fore-sighting this scenario.

BJP also revealed the hidden meaning of their name as Bhartiya Janata to Pakistan. While briefing a media gathering their spokesperson said that they were working on this type of travel agency even before 2014 general elections. The idea is brainchild of BJP MP from Bihar Giriraj Singh and Yogi Adityanath, Sadhvi Prachi and Sakshi Maharaj promoted it to their full capacity. Now after BJP president Amit Shah's nod party officially announced their travel wing to cater all tasks related to it under Kailash Vijayvargiye who wants Shah Rukh Khan to be the first person to take benefit from this scheme.

This travel wing along with handling Prime Minister's foreign tours would provide free transportation to Pakistan for all those opposed to them. 'This looks like a daunting task but we are fully prepared to do this with RSS support,' a BJP party worker said on promise of anonymity. 'Shah Rukh Khan is our favorite and he will be the first person to get his ticket from Prime Minister himself,' he further added. Opposition is terming it as a gimmick for Bihar poll because none from the opposition have received an invitation for Ticket to Pakistan.

It is not yet cleared that this scheme is meant only for Muslims or others could also benefit from the scheme. BJP has also not announced the amount they have given to Hafiz Sayeed for preparing for the project in Pakistan. The people are waiting for travel packages to other countries as well but that seems impossible since India have faced only one partition its history.

Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam

Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam - A Tribute To Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge

A girl craving for her dream boy went on holidays with her friends after getting permission from her father who wanted to marry his daughter with his friend's son in his homeland India. She met a boy during this journey and fell in his love. He too started loving her but both of them didn't reveal this to each other. The boy went to India for expressing his love and to win the trust of her family. Finally the father approved their love and send her daughter with him.

Who knows on 20th October 1995 (release date of this film) that this simple love story would create history in Hindi Film Industry with longest ever run by a movie in the world. This film was continuously running in Maratha Mandir Mumbai from last 20 years ( 1009 weeks ) till 19 Feb 2015 when it was screened for the last time. Produced by Yash Chopra of Yash Raj Films and the directorial debut of his son Aditya Chopra who is also the story and screenplay writer of the film, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal and Anupam Kher in the lead roles.

This film gave its first romantic hero to the film industry before that heroes were either angry young man or super fighters or tragic emotional being or heartthrob but not lovers. Not like Raj the screen name of SRK in the movie (inspired by the great Raj Kapoor ) who can do anything to woo his girl Simran - Kajol's screen name but never dare to break the tradition that girl must marry with her parents' will and went on to impress them. The story touched the heart of every Indian in such a way that every young boy aspire to become Raj to woo his girl and every girl dreams of Raj as her perfect match. It became a trendsetter and inspired many movies.

Here are few reasons which I think helped in long run of this film :

1. Raj became the face of changing India of that time carefree with lots of job opportunity in country and abroad and thus having the time to chase their love and dreams.

2. Music of the film was a success world over. Many foreign surveys rate it at all time hit Indian music of that decade, who can forget the evergreen melodies like Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam, Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye, Doli Sajake Rakhna Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna, Zara Sa Jhoomlun Mein , Hogaya Hai Tujhko To Pyaar Sajna, etc.

3. Superb performances and dialogue, captivating locations with equally matched cinematography which never aged with years and give it a high repeat value.

4. Love - the eternal love and not the lust , you can see a romantic and emotional film again and again than a high action drama. Most of us lacks love in our lives such movies filled that void.

There may be many other reasons but for me Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam Pyaar Hota Hai Diwana Sanam. This movie which I watched in my childhood was the first impression of how love should be and those of us who have spent their childhood in 90's can feel how special this movie for us. Today I am feeling nostalgic after hearing that this movie held it last show today it brought many memories back like dancing on menhdi lagage rakhna in my class for dance exam, singing tujhe dekha to ye jaana in Antakshiri whenever the word 'T'came to me. But we can now see this movie on Internet whenever we want but yes this movie holds a special place in my heart from thousands of Hindi movies I have watched.

Here is the new trailer of this movie released on completion of 1000 weeks:

Book Review : Six Teen Mistakes - The Waxing Moon

Book Review : Six Teen Mistakes - The Waxing Moon

Six Teen Mistakes - The Waxing Moon is a romantic fiction written by Nikhil Kushwaha and published by Leadstart Publishing Pvt. Ltd. I have received this book as a part of Book Review program from The Reader's Cosmos. This is writer's debut novel having glimpses of his own life.

Cover : Cover page with a shadow of a girl and a boy is enough to have an idea of romantic story you are going to read. But as you look at the back page a poem in remembrance of a loved one and a shadow of a lonely boy hints at their incomplete love.

Plot : First of all I want to make it clear that this book is only half the story and to read the complete story you will have to wait for the second part. This part starts with narrator's claiming himself as DILM (Deficiency in Intelligence, Luck and Money ) while narrating his teenage life to a girl named Priya at Puri Beach in Orissa where they both appeared for the first phase counselling of JEE. He then describes his teenage life after when he joined the Kendriya Vidhyalaya in 11th standard. How he make new friends? How he involved in some immoral practices? His love at first sight? The separation with that girl and then finding true love in another girl. Will his second attempt at love was a success? The story ends with many unanswered questions about his unfinished love story and about that girl who made him realize true love.

Boilers : The high points of this book is small poems weaved in between the story giving a unique style to the narrative. All teenage characters are believable and you can easily finds them in today's school or perhaps experienced them in your own school life. Simple language and fast narrative make it engrossing. The writer is not judgemental about any character and that's what give you liberty to have your own opinions about the characters and the story. Being a Bollywood movie buff myself I also liked the movie references and one liners from them. It is a complete masala kind of a novel.

Spoilers : Writer seems influenced by Bollywood movies and specially Shahrukh Khan. Sharing story with a stranger (Anjana Anjani ), experiencing presence of beloved after death ( Mohabbatein), preserving tear drop (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ), believing in true love and waiting for someone special (Dil To Pagal Hai). These and many such instances in the story reminds you of Hindi movies. Story would have been better if based in college than school for the kind of freedom they are getting there. Incompleteness is also a setback.

Verdict : Read for a feel of  youthfulness, energy and for the poems weaved in between the narrative. Specially recommended for Hindi movie buffs.

Rating : I would give 3/5.

Black Is Beautiful

Black Is Beautiful

Black is not my favorite color but still I like black for the style and personality attached to it. Black gives grace, confidence and a mystical charisma as you wear it, hold it or connect to it in any what way. It's the color of royalty, you feel like a king of the world dressed in a black suit sitting in the car driven by a driver. This is the color which enhances other colors if used with them,it glorifies the presence of other colors. Black eyes are enough to make a lover crazy and who don't want to possess long black hair to get the attention of boys. Black is always beautiful. There are many things black which I desire the top 5 of which are:

1. To immerse in the beauty of long black lustrous hair. The hairs which when open brings cloud in the sky much like the heroines of Hindi films. I desire to write poems for such beautiful black hairs and sing for them," Yeh reshmi zulfein...." To twiddle my fingers in such hairs and forgot all my worries in their enchantments. I want to lost in that black forest of hairs.

2. I also desire to own a black Limousine and feel like the king of the world. All influential and powerful people in the world own a limo. It is not only a status symbol but a style statement. It is hard to see on Indian roads which increase my curiosity for it. By owing it I will be among the leagues of presidents, head of states, superstars and powerful business tycoons. I desire to have a black limo to blind others eyes in its shine. The black limo has power fixed to it name I wants to feel that power.

3. To have black smart Samsung gear on my hands. Recently I bought latest Samsung Galaxy S5 ,these Galaxy Smart Fit Gear was also launched with it but I couldn't buy this for budget constrains. As it keeps track of your sleep patterns, walking, running, heart heart ,etc. This device is the need of the hour to have a healthy lifestyle from which I am very far away as of now that doesn't mean I am unhealthy but that device would make me more fit. It is the latest gadget and will suit my black colored phone very well.

4. Long black mustache. I desire to have such Ranveer Singh like long black mustache which I tried but removed due to family pressure before attaining that shape and size. Only once I wish to roll the ends of my mustache with my fingers. There must be some trick for their speedy growth. I want to know that trick to flaunt that black tresses of hair above my lips.

5. Black suit. Men looks good or I should say great in black which was the reason that black suit dress code remains the theme for awards ceremonies as in Oscars and Filmfare. A magazine voted Shah Rukh Khan as best dressed actor of India. He also looks fabulous in black suit when he walked on red carpet. I also desire to walk the red carpet in black suit clicked by the photographers all around.

Black is dashing, it depicts the confidence. Most things are colored black because you could have doubts with other colors but the black is always beautiful. One can faith this color with closed eyes.

Acche Din Aane Wale Hain?

Achche Din Aane Wale Hain ? ( Good Days Are Ahead?)

Results of Indian General Election 2014 yesterday gave a new national leader to the country in the form of Mr. Narender Modi. His rise is a case study for marketing and advertising people. He was present everywhere during election campaign whether it is news channels,newspapers,facebook,twitter,T-shirts,tea cups,Modi comics, chai pe charcha,3D rallies, etc which helped him reach maximum number of people and making an impact in their minds which other political parties failed to do. His mannerism and controversial behavior also helped him gain popularity.

Emergence of Narender Modi also helped people rise above caste politics which destroyed political presence of regional parties eliminating possibilities of their role as king or kingmaker as in last twenty-five years. These parties formed due to regional aspirations of each became mere pressure groups in coalition governments restricting governments to take any strong steps. Women reservation bill,Janlokpal bill, food security bill, targeted violence bill are some important bills and acts which remain hanging between the two houses of the parliament thanks to these regional parties. We know some parts of the country needs more attention than the others - the main demand of the regional parties however they failed to do so when came to power in their areas barring the few.

As gaining the majority was a tough task for him so is the running of new government owing to the world economic crises which India is also facing. I think he knew this for which he raised the time limit from 60 to 120 months in his thank you speech in Ahmedabad after results were declared. In his election campaign speeches he made so much promises that completing them would be hard nut to crack as Oh Yes Abhi ! generation wanted everything immediately. It is not so that Manmohan Singh's government was not doing anything but the condition was so much worse that something extra is required to control inflation, generating employment, improving farmers condition, etc. ( You can check Manmohan Singh's efforts here.)

Modi's election campaign was much like Shah Rukh Khan's promotion of Ra.One. He with his presence at every platform during the release of the film made sure that everyone must watch that movie once similarly Modi brought people to vote for him once. Shah Rukh 's effort resulted in good box office collection for the otherwise flop film and Modi's efforts ensured  BJP Modi government of party with many differences among them. The coming of Modi government and not the BJP government gave scope to dictatorial tendencies.( I noticed a bit arrogance in his yesterday's speech.)

Question mark at the end of my title shows my doubt about good days since India of 1.25 billion population is entirely different from a wealthy Gujarat state of 60 million people. Also there must be some expectations of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ) parent organisation of BJP(Bhartiya Janata Party ) who devoted all his powers in promoting PM Modi and of those people who have spent enormous amount of money in his public rallies and meetings, how he handle this would also be interesting. Moreover a large population is feeling insecure under his leadership, to inculcate faith in them would be a daunting task. Congratulations and best of luck to him for the future only time will tell how positive or negative will be MODI-fication of politics.

My Role Model

My Role Model

We all lives an ordinary life under many pressures and expectations at different stages and in different situations in life. At times it becomes difficult to manage a situation and to come out of a problem unscratched and unbroken. This is a time when we look up to someone for inspiration. The one man who can give us the required courage and motivation, one who can lift our spirit. This can be a situation you have witnessed someone coming out so easily which inspired you so much that throughout your life you carry a positive attitude. Thus giving you a role model in your life whom you don't only follow but also preaches others what he does in your life.

Before I tell about #MyRoleModel here are few things I want to share:
  • He inspires you to stand for the right whatever and whoever was standing in front of you.
  • He tells that everything concludes positively and there is no single situation which can break your courage.
  • When you feels lonely he is the one which make you understand that there is someone special waiting for you in this world.
  • Nothing is powerful than love.
  • Never leave your friends midway.
  • Nothings matter more than your family.
  • Talent and hard-work turns fortunes.

These and many more things I have learnt from my role model and will continue to learn. My role model is the king of Bollywood Mr Shahrukh Khan. Only while writing this post I realized how much I am inspired by him. Since my childhood I used to copy his actions ,his mannerism, his style. He was projected as a lover boy which makes him heartthrobs of millions of girls and for boys he is the ideal example of how a man should treat women. A role model is one which sets an example for people around him and change their perspectives and I think he never falls short of this definition. Characters portrayed by him never encouraged vulgarity on screen.

Each role he played is inspiring, whether Raj of DDLJ who changed himself to get his love, Kabir of Chak De who give life to a dead team, Veer of Veer-Zara whose Indian values won heart of a Pakistani girl, Raj Aryan of Mohabbatein who stood for love against mighty Amitabh Bachchan, Rizwan Khan of MNIK giving message that don't mix religion with terrorism, the list is endless as each character of his was inspirational. One important think common to all these characters is the respect for girls which is lost somewhere in today's world. Rajkapoor as Raju became face of innocent youth of Independent India, Amitabh Bachchan became face of seventies as Vijay the angry young man showing angst against the system of that time while Shahrukh as Rahul was not a struggling youth but one who was craving for love in self oriented world what the 90's was.

His real life is also inspiring. When in Bollywood relationship changes like clothes he remained loyal to single woman throughout his life, there were speculations sometimes but he came out unscratched. How he conduct himself publicly is an example for many aspiring actors. Those actors who becomes arrogant with just one or two hits should learn from his modesty. His leadership skills are beyond any doubts which make his each venture successful, he is working with a same team for years which shows how dependable he is.

Shahrukh Khan was the first person who taught marketing skills to the film industry. He is hard working,a good husband, a caring father,a complete entertainer,an amazing speaker,a trustworthy friend,a self made man and truly a good human being. What else you demand from someone to be a role model?

Cricket Crazy

Cricket Crazy

As I came to know about crazy cricket contest last year's incident came flashing into my mind. Tracking the match this year with starsports.com application's match centre feature is a cake walk. It shows most interesting thing about a particular match like interesting stats, missed moments, spectacular catches and so on. On the whole this app satisfies all your cricketing needs.

But that wasn't the case on 15th May 2013 i.e first birthday of my niece. Since it was her first birthday all relatives, neighbors and friends were invited but that day coincided with matches of my two favorite IPL teams, during day it was Kolkata's match ( I like KKR for ShahRukh connection) and at night it was Mumbai's match ( Mumbai for Sachin Tendulkar.) I knew it a day before that these matches would be missed. There was not a chance to see them at home and we have declared holiday for that day in our office and factory. I lost the hope to see them and remained busy with preparations of the event in dejected mood. and when my cousin told me that KKR lost the match,I became restless for Mumbai's match.( Why she chose that day to born?)

So in evening I went to a neighborhood tea shop and sat there to watch the match while others were busy with birthday and dinner. Talking about the match with fellow tea mates I completely forgot the birthday party, when match ended around 11:30, I reached home where everyone was waiting for me in anger. My elder brother started scolding me,my mother was crying. They thought I have lost the way or in some trouble to miss an occasion awaited by me. My phone was also in silent mode.) When I told where I was they burst into laughter being aware of my cricket love.
