Gauri Lankesh Silenced

Gauri Lankesh Silenced

Senior journalist, editor and activist Gauri Lankesh, 55, was shot dead by unidentified assailants at the entrance of her home in Bengaluru West on Tuesday evening. Four bullets were pumped into the editor of the Kannada weekly Lankesh Patrike at her doorstep after she had stepped out of her car and opened the gates to her home which lay in darkness at around 8 pm.(The Indian Express)

This is not the first time that a rationalist is killed. Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, M.M. Kalburgi all rationalist, disbeliever of superstitious practices of Hindutva and dissenter of RSS all were killed allegedly by Hindu fundamentalists who remain uncaught by the police in all these years. Gauri Lankesh was also opponent of Hindutva and work actively for naxals, women and dalit rights. The Congress party who is actively criticizing the BJP now for her killing should remember that all of them were killed under Congress ruled states and in spite of criticism shown by them, they haven't able to track the criminals.

Voice of dissent is in danger and we must not avoid this killing as an incident in Karnataka because if you oppose religion and has rational thinking then you are also in danger. RSS/BJP supporter actively enjoying the killing of Gauri Lankesh on social media which should also come under criminal offense. Gauri Lankesh could be seen in news debates opposing the topics usually supported by RSS/BJP. In recent days, Gauri Lankesh was actively involved in bringing many persons involved with the Naxal movement in Karnataka back into the mainstream with the co-operation of the Karnataka government.

I appeal Karnataka government which has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the murder to monitor speedy probe of the issue. Other pending cases of Dabholkar,Pansare, Kalburgi should also be probed speedily. Where is the police teams they show in Crime Patrol which honestly without any pressure solves crimes? This is the time to condemn her death and stood for her beliefs. We must pressurize the government to solve her murder case quickly and raise our voices for such acts. India is not build in last three years and neither by a party, a leader, a family, a religion or an ideology. It is the amalgamation of all these and the quality of people to accommodate each other which make India great. Till next post. God Bless India.

The Leader He Never Was

The Leader He Never Was

Aggressive, progressive, regressive no one really know who Rahul Gandhi is. He looks like a Messiah for the underprivileged at times and on another occasions he looks as a burden for the party. What he wants to do with party or the politics is still the secret after 11 years of him in active politics. If he is not interested in it then he must leave it and do what he really does well because we don't even know about his qualifications however if he is interested then party must trust him and follow his ideals.

I am not among those Twitter Trenders who makes mockery of people by making fun of them but his return after a long holiday reminded me of a song in Zakhm ( Ajay Devgn, Pooja Bhatt starring movie of the 90's 'Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla' sung by Alka Yagnik) seeing Congress's hope in him. And after not so successful year of Modi government India has also some hope in him to be alternative for Modi in future. Here is a video song dedicated to Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

Ab Tak 46

Ab Tak 46

24 years in service as an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer has brought Ashok Khemka more than salary and government benefits in the form of 46 transfers. No matter who was leading the government he was transferred frequently from one department to another without any prior notice and without any solid reason.

Ashok Khemka became famous in the country after he found out loopholes in Robert Vadra land deals under Congress government. Robert Vadra the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi then became the face of corruption for the opposition party of that time BJP  who used this issue to target corrupt practices of Bhupinder Singh Hooda government by supporting Khemka for his honesty. They labelled his transfer as a move to bury the allegations against Robert Vadra but after coming in power what BJP has done is not different from doings of the Congress Government. Haryana's present Chief Minister M L Khattar ordered his transfer in just five months of him in the transport department after complaints from some transporters of Haryana who objected his stopping of trucks from some mining sites at night. It is not difficult to understand that mining at night means they were engaged in illegal mining.

If he is an incompetent officer who doesn't fit in any department then he must be sacked from his duties but if he is competent then governments must give the reasons for his transfers. Honesty is a good policy but that seems different if you are talking about bureaucrats in our country. Who knows how many more transfers are waiting for him before his retirement but I stand with him for his honesty and injustice against him and if he is wrong we have a right to know his wrongdoings.

The First Battle of Delhi

The First Battle of Delhi

There are numerous battles in the history to conquer Delhi like three Battles of Panipat, Battle of Kurukshetra in Mahabharata ,etcetera fought at the outskirts of Delhi between different kings and rulers but none so big and interesting than the one going on within the limits of Delhi. This is the first battle of Delhi in this winter of 2015 for the 70 constituencies that form this city. Battle because it is fight between personalities and not for the people's issues.

The ruling BJP party in the center have put everything at stake to win this battle. The so called Modi magic which they believe helped them in winning 2014 General Election and then assembly elections in four states is fading here in front of Arvind Kejriwal who is just 2 years old in politics but has changed it dynamics since his entry in it before 2013 Delhi assembly polls. Congress party which is marginalized after 2014 elections is also hoping to regain their lost reputation through these polls but looking at the present scenario it seems very difficult.

Arvind Kejriwal is the reason behind making this battle fierce and grand. He has shaped it in his own terms , played cards which demolished every strategy of his opponents. He didn't want it to be Modi v/s him so he compelled BJP to present a CM candidate in the form of Kiran Bedi, he pressurized her to debate with him which made her nervous and she committed mistakes during her media interviews. She appeared unprepared for her task without any plan and policy for the state she was contesting as CM , her authoritarian behavior irked workers of her own party, walking out from a TV interview and from a reporter's questions forced party to order her not to speak to media again proving beneficial to Arvind Kejriwal. He also displayed a rare trait in politics i.e apology for leaving government in 49 days last time. A country where politicians and political parties never felt sorry for their wrong doings his apology made him closer to the people.

This is also a first that about 120 MP of ruling party including many cabinet ministers were campaigning for 70 seats assembly elections and that too for a state which is not even a complete state. This is also strange that BJP chief Amit Shah has not spoken a word in support of his CM candidate Kiran Bedi. Every weapon available has been tested from newspaper adds to social media campaign, from twitter trends to letter to each home but in all these hullabaloo core issues have lost.

The nation is watching Delhi. The world is watching Delhi. Name, reputations, future, expansions, policies, leadership, marketing techniques all are at stake in this elections. This battle of personalities, this battle of ideologies, this battle of ego will change the course of politics of this nation. Will the unconquerable Modi taste a defeat? What will be the future of Arvind Kejriwal after this election? What will Congress get from this battle? There are many questions which will be answered on 10th Feb 2015 the counting day.

In the end I would like to say that whatever may be your choice do vote and exercise your right on 7th February 2015. In this historical battle of polls lets create history by making new record in voting.

Stubble Politics

Stubble Politics

I might have reviewed these elections differently had there been no P.A.S.S activity going on at BlogAdda. This activity tends to make me think like that. Till now we all know that Congress is erased,BJP is praised and a new force AAP is traced. The stubbornness of Congress high command in dealing with issues related to public importance has failed their efforts of attracting people through food subsidy and direct cash transfer. On the other hand dominance of Narender Modi in national perspective helped BJP in gaining majority in three states. AAP in Delhi emerged due to their reach to each voter and their clean images.

But this is against the P.A.S.S activity. All the gainers in these elections i.e Dr. Harshvardhan and Arvind KJejriwaal in Delhi, Raman Singh in Chattisgarh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan in M.P and finally Narender Modi (BJP's PM canditate) have beard or at mustache on their faces. Voters instead of hating that unclean stubble praised them and the losers namely Rahul Gandhi, Jyotiradhitya Sindhiya in M.P, Ajeet Jogi in Chattisgarh and Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan were denied by voters in spite of having a clean shaven look to bowled others.( I don't think it is good to bring two women namely Sheila Dikshit and Vasundhra Raje in this hairy conversation.)

It is clear that clean and clear look works well with voters only when you work for them. But we who are participating in P.A.S.S should protest against this trend and encourage all politicians to have a clean shaven look.

This post is a part of the Protest Against Smelly Stubble Activity in association with BlogAdda.

This is in response to Umamaheshwari Anandane's tag. I would like to tag Juzta Mom, Subhorup Dasgupta and Ashwin Kumar

Tandoor Kand( Naina Sahni Murder Case)

Tandoor Kand ( Naina Sahni Murder Case)

Among the many incidents that occurred in 90,s India and caught the attention of the nation and the world was Tandoor Kand or Naina Sahni murder case. Naina Sahni a congress party worker was shot dead by her husband Sushil Sharma a congress youth leader MLA.

He killed his wife by firing two shots from his pistol in his house on suspicion of her illicit relationship with her co-worker. He then took the body to the restaurant called Bagiya and tried to disposed off the body by chopping and burning it into the restaurant's tandoor (clay oven) with the help of restaurant's manager. Two patrolling constables came to know about the incident when they visited the place after seeing the smoke and getting smell of flesh burning. Manager was arrested by the police and Sushil Sharma surrendered later on 10th July 1995 eight day after the incident.

This incident grabbed the massive media coverage on being one of its kind. The in humanness showed by him in disposing off the dead body and breach of confidence made it to the list of the rarest of the rare case in the eye of law and he was sentenced to death in 2003 by the lower court, the decision which was also upheld by the high court. He filed a petition in Supreme Court against the verdict, the decision of which came today on 8th October 2013 which converted his death sentence into imprisonment till death on the ground that Sharma didn't have a criminal antecedent and there is a possibility of reform of him.

The verdict of The Supreme Court also confirmed that Indian judicial system believes in reform i.e to kill the crime and not the criminal. Moreover it will give the message that one should think twice before taking any action in the heat of the moment. He may be a big politician today had he not committed the crime then, all his future was ruined because he had not controlled his anger at that very instance.

UBC Day 8

Tragedy Of Being Mr.Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi was always an inspiration for the congress, from ever since he had entered the politics( some people still think he should better be outside it) there were speculations that he will be the next prime minister of India.
But as time passes such speculations rises but Rahul Gandhi falls from being so. Being a politician from such a valuable family and giving such a high promises to the nation his policies, his ideology is still alien to people. Sometimes when he ate in dalit houses (who support their families with difficulty and arrange their meals with lots of efforts) he presents himself as ‘ Mesiha’  for them who will change their destiny but when there was a bill on ‘promotion in reservation’ (which his party bring in haste to divert from Coalgate) he remains quite and his views are unclear to the masses.
It appears that he his a true Gandhian of today of believes in Gandhi’s monkey philosophy but with a twist. Gandhi ‘s monkeys say never to listen bad things, never to hear bad things and never to speak bad things while Rahul Gandhi follows it as never to say anything, never to speak anything and never to hear anything. His silence on very big issues of the nation is slap on those faces who thinks to promote him as future PM. Nation is not in a position to carry another PM (like Manmohan Singh) who had sealed his lips on every issues.
Why Rahul Gandhi is in national politics? Why he project himself as future PM? Why he believes he has the power to bring a change in nation? Is to bring younger generation to politics without assigning any bigger role to them will do anything?  If Rahul Gandhi by chance reads this blog please speak something about  inflation or corruption or CAG or CBI or anything of national interest and in a place other than a election gathering.
