A Doctor's Death

A Doctor's Death

A murder is always a shame for society but the way this murder was conducted and for the reason behind it I being a resident of Delhi is feeling embarrassed. I am talking about the murder of Dr Pankaj Narang a Dentist who lived in Vikaspuri, Delhi by a group of nine people. The event that followed after the murder on social media was also horrifying ridiculing our status of decent society.

It was an usual event that lead to such a big incident. Pankaj and his brother-in-law's son was playing cricket on road in front of their house when a speeding bike came and stopped in front of Pankaj's son saving him from the accident. This angered Pankaj, he scolded both the biker and the pillion. He seized their bike and asked them to bring their parents since one of them was a minor. They returned with cricket bats and sticks in their hand along with seven more people including a woman attacked Pankaj Narang in his home. They beat Dr Narang to death. The cries of help by Dr Narang and his family remain unheard by their neighbors and police as usual reached late on the spot.

Seeing involvement of some Muslims in this incident RSS/BJP workers reached the spot to give the incident a communal turn, thankfully family denied any political interference in their moment of grief but that doesn't put off these rumor mongers on social media. From cricket bats to knives, from group of nine to mob of hundreds and from nearby slum clusters to Bangladeshi migrants, these people try to communalize this issue in every possible way. Here I want to appreciate Delhi police especially IPS Monika Bhardwaj who tweeted correct facts related to the incident. She thwarted communal polarization by declaring that 5 out of 9 accused were Hindus and none of them was from Bangladesh. Sadly she received abuses from those whose agenda she has sabotaged.

What has happened to our society? Why there is so much anger inside us? Why neighbors not interfered when the attackers came? We are disintegrating as a society of humans into the groups with same ideology, same faith, same locality, same community these identities have subdued our identity as humans. We forget that what is happening with somebody else could happen to us if we remain silent during injustice on other. This incident or any other such incidents are highly condemn-able whatever may be the religion of the attackers. It is disheartening that some people try to gain political mileage out of personal grief, we must be alert and aware enough to suppress such anti social elements during these incidents. My condolences for Dr Pankaj Narang's family and I appeal to Delhi police to treat four juveniles in this case as adults for stricter punishment for them. Till next post God Bless India.

Policewale Gunde

Policewale Gunde

"What do you expect from Delhi police that they will worship them?" It was the answer when I discussed the students' lathi charge incident with someone. "Jiski Lathi Usi Ki Bhains", he added which translates as power lies with one with the stick. This is the image of Delhi police and Modi government in people's view. It's not that I think Delhi police officers as saint but regularly watching Crime Patrol on Sony TV made me think differently.

Delhi police lathi charged students of Jawahar Lal Nehru University and other student unions during their protest in front of RSS headquarters in Jhandewalan, Delhi over suicide of Hyderabad student Rohith Vemula. What is more shocking was that some other people who were not from students' union and Delhi police were beating these protesters. The beating was same for both girls and boys and in video you can hear voices from students asking what was the reason of such police atrocities. It is not a rocket science to guess that civilians who were brutally beating students along with police were RSS workers. Is RSS above law and democratic values of protest?

Prime Minister Narender Modi who when on tours abroad boost about youth power of India and the potential lies in the youth of the country must bring out his Mann Ki Baat to his lips about this police atrocity. This is not the way to treat protesters. Are they trying to imply through such violence that nobody dare to protest against this supreme unconstitutional authority? Are we still under British rule? Here I will not blame only Delhi police and Narender Modi government because in every state of India student protesters receives such kind of police treatment. The political parties which crave for votes from them don't bother to listen to their needs and demands.

I demand strong actions against all those police officers who were responsible for this incident and I also wants to know who ordered them to do so. Was Home Ministry aware of this lathi charge orders? It is sad the police system is corrupt and thrives on sycophancy. If you don't appease your masters you were not going to get promotion or some creamy post after retirement and the common man bears the burden of this police behaviors. Below is the video of policewale gunde beating the students.

Delhi's Serial Killer

Delhi's Serial Killer

Search for a missing girl in South Delhi on July 14, 2015 revealed a much sinister story of sexual assault and killings of minors aged between 2 to 10 at the hands of 24-year old laborer Ravinder Kumar. After discovering the dead body of missing girl in an empty house police arrested him through a driving licence of a person whom vehicle was stolen by him before abducting the girl.

Later in police interrogation he confessed to other such crimes not only in Delhi but also in Noida, Badaun, Hathras and Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Everyday tolls of his victims are increasing and till now he has confessed the sexual assault and killing of 30 children. What is more strange is the fact that he remained out of police's reach in all these incidents and when arrested by police in 2014 for assaulting and dumping a boy in water tank (who didn't die), he was released by police for lack of evidence.

All thirty children sexually assaulted and killed by him belonged to the poor labor class which remained the reason for less media coverage and police inaction in all these incidents. The poor parents couldn't pressurize the police and the society in a way middle and higher class did even in the petty cases of misbehaving with them. This case has exposed the inequality in our police system. The height of the inefficiency of police could also be judged from a case of assaulting and killing of a girl child in Hathras, U.P confessed by Ravinder Kumar in which U.P police had closed the case with the arrest of that girl's father and filing the charge-sheet against him in the court.

It is also hard to digest that police investigations in all these thirty cases brought out nothing concrete regarding these cases. Why Ravinder did these crimes is a matter of another debate but how he escaped them all so easily is a matter of concern. The Delhi police who ranked itself among the best police force in the world and who is now patting its back for arresting Ravinder Kumar is unable to explain his freedom even after thirty killings which he has admitted so far. The toll may increase further as he speak more about his life and crime until then thank god for this precious life and pray for safety of children from such psycho killers.
