Ruined State - Syria

Ruined State - Syria

Indifference of the world communities, the power hungry government, Shia-Sunni rivals and international Islamophobic population has ruined an entire nation. The peaceful demonstration which started almost seven years ago against President Bashar-Al-Assad of Syria for criticizing high unemployment, corruption and lack of political freedom turned into a fully fledged civil war with the intervention of foreign nations which resulted in mass killing of innocent civilians including children.

The Russian government is supporting President Assad and bombarding the rebel areas since 2015. Their attacks they say are targeted towards armed rebel but destroying civilian colonies, hospitals and schools. A recent attack has killed 53 civilians including 21 children. While Russia is supporting President Assad for its interest in the area, USA is supporting the rebel forces. Since Assad is Shia and Sunni is the dominant community in Syria countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia has arrived in the conflict to support their side. Iran supports Shia ruler and Saudi Arabia supports Sunni rebels. Islamic State also grew in the area giving opportunity to these countries to freely attack Syria in pretense to kill IS forces.

The UN says at least 250,000 people have been killed. However, the organization stopped updating its figures in August 2015 but those who are dying are adding to the tally on daily.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, reported in December 2017 that it had documented the deaths of more than 346,600 people, including 103,000 civilians. But it noted that the figure did not include 56,900 people who were missing and presumed dead. In February 2016, a think-tank estimated that the conflict had caused 470,000 deaths, either directly or indirectly.

Currently no solution to Syrian crisis is visible because UN lead peace talks has failed several times. Most of the Syrians have become refuges seeking shelter in Europe and neighboring countries of Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. Some locals in these countries are against Syrian refugees which again has added to their miseries. Russia don’t want President Assad to step down from his post which is the prerequisite at the moment to control the war and bringing all involved parties to the talking table. The world should come together to end this war for the sake of innocent men, women and children getting killed in this war daily.

Sayonara 2016

Sayonara 2016

The start of 2016 was marked with Pathankot attacks and after that their was no looking back at the bad stories of this year. Pathankot attacks, Uri Attacks, Rohith Vemula suicide after which nationwide student's protest was there against the government which give rise to anti-national debate after sloganeering in JNU campus Delhi, rise of Kanhaiya Kumar, this year also saw several terrorist attacks in Brussels,Berlin, Turkey, etc and the continuing struggle for life of people of Syria, if there was a fight for race to President's post between Hillary & Trump in USA so there was consensus on Brexit in Britain, Mohammad Ali,Jayalalithaa, etc left us this year.

An important part of India Kashmir remain in unrest after the death of militant Burhan Wani which still not came out completely from the tense situation. The demonetization of Rs 1000 & Rs 500 notes during the end of the year halted the nation which finding it difficult to come to normalcy in the near future, Vijay Malaya escaped the clutches of government and there seems less seriousness on investigations on the names come out in Panama Paper leaks, who can forget the picture of Dana Manjhi carrying his wife's dead body on his soldiers or of long queues outside banks after note ban. This year was full of troubles around the world.

But that doesn't mean there were no instances of happiness or togetherness. Free Hugs movement in America try to spread love in the wake of racial abuses, Rio Olympics and T20 Cricket World Cup championship brought togetherness in the world, ISRO successfully launched many satellites in space and world stood united in the air of terrorism. It was a mixed year we can say but we can always hope for a better year, for better future and for better conditions for mankind to flourish. Happy New Year.

Here I have made a video showcasing almost all the events of the year.

Don't Forget Aleppo,Don't Forget Syria

Don't Forget Aleppo, Don't Forget Syria

"Don't forget Aleppo, don't forget Syria" was shouted a suspected Turkish police officer after he shot dead Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov in an art gallery in Ankara. His act of killing is highly condemnable and he was shot dead for the same but what he said must also be the concern of the world for the sake of humanity. We must think about Aleppo and Syria.

The civil war going on in Syria has resulted in the destruction of one of the oldest city in the world Aleppo. Russian bombardment has not spared even the schools, hospitals and residential area. The conflict started in 2011 with demonstrations against the Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad. He was supported by Russia while USA is against him. So when the people of Syria started peaceful demonstrations against him which some believed were sponsored by USA were dealt with force from president Bashar-al-Assad. This conflict gets complicated when Islamic State captured parts of Syria and joined the protesters in garb of conflict. It gave upper hand to Russia to freely attack Syria to eradicate rebels and Islamic State terrorists. As a result Syria has become a conflict zone where people are evacuating their homeland to save lives of their families.

The ancient town of Aleppo has been destroyed completely in these attacks. The ruins of civilization have replaced once structure of human prosperity. The world is silent for this inhumanity. Some believes Muslims deserve this since they are spreading terror in the world forgetting that terrorism is now an organized syndicate which works for money. It has nothing to do with religion. The innocent children, women and men who are losing their lives in Syria are human first. They have basic necessity of food and shelter like any human being. The ignorance of world to the cause of those affected with such tragedies making them prone to accept the ideology of terror. They feel that they can make their voice heard in that way.

I hear people saying that every terrorist is a Muslim. But they forget that every oppressed around the world is also a Muslim. Be it in Kashmir - India, Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar, Muslims of Chechanya in Russia, Muslims in China where they are prosecuted for following their religion, Iraq and Afghanistan where cities destroyed in search of weapons of mass destruction which were never there, similarly there are many places in the world where Muslims get second class treatment from the majority or the ruling class. I am not saying that you get a license to kill if you are a victim but world needs to look with sympathy and humanity to the issues faced by these people around the world and try to find out the solution for the same. I am ending this post with the prayers of peace for the people of Aleppo and rest of Syria. #PrayForAleppo. God Bless The World.

IS - Islamic State or International Slackness

IS - Islamic State or International Slackness.

Paris Attacks on 13th November 2015 which killed around 200 people opened world's eyes to a new threat to the world peace i.e Islamic State or IS. It was not the first attack by IS but it became their 9/11 moment which garnered them worldwide headlines and hours long news coverage. Facebook even offered safety check feature for people affected by the attack and France flag as DP (display picture) for those who want to show their solidarity with Paris and France. For few more days people will outburst their anger on social sites and then terrorism will go out off discussion from public debates.

Islamic State is creating havoc from last one year or so, it has captured a large part of Iraq (including some oil well), Syria and Egypt. Islamic State is involved in killing of innocent people of these nations which forced many to leave their country and demand refuge in other countries. The reckless attitude of America and European countries for happenings in these middle eastern countries have helped in spreading of their terror networks in other parts of the world. They are using internet to spread their hate messages converting many innocents to be their sympathizers and support their cause. Turkey and other such countries are buying oil from IS thus funding them with money. Many NGO's in America and Europe are also providing funds to them. They are using sophisticated modern weapons made in America, Iran and European countries. This international slackness towards their activities is giving them more power and money.

Why World Is Not Uniting Against ISIS For World Peace? #terrorism #ParisAttacks

When Russia attacked Syrian hideouts of IS and drive them away from many parts of Syria neither Europe nor America supported this action. Are they using IS as a tool to spread Islamophobia? The sudden emergence of IS immediately after killing of Osama-bin-Laden is also a matter of suspicion. Why not ban the organization selling ammunition to them? Why not ban NGO's providing funds to them? Isn't terrorism used as a tool to sideline a community which was also suffering from these terrorist attacks? Few know that Beirut in Lebanon was also attacked by IS two days before Paris attacks killing at least 43 people. Attacks in Syrian mosques & residential colonies, Iraq's minorities, Nigeria, Algeria, Saudi Arabia etc were also conducted by IS without much international reporting and coverage.

The time has come to form an international community which not acts as a puppet of developed nations like United Nations. A body which can handle all crucial issues of human right violation, terrorist funding, illegal arm trade, international drug peddlers and other such issues more strongly than United Nation did today. World stood together in tough time is a good gesture which would not be limited to attack on Europe and America. I also support PM Narender Modi and other world leaders' demand to define terrorism to separate it from religion and for strong actions against their sympathizers. Pray for peace for Paris and for the world.

Opportunity To live

Opportunity To Live.

"The smallest coffins are the heaviest."

The image of three year old Aylan Kurdi wearing bright red T-shirt and shorts and lying face down in the surf on the beach town of Bodrum, Turkey is enough to raise the question on our humanity. The boy was on a ship that capsized due to overload while going from Turkey to Greece. This wasn't the only case of boat capsizing, many boats carrying the refugees out of war-torn Syria have facing the similar fate.

The four and a half year long civil war in Syria have resulted in lost of life and childhood of Syrian children. The fear of dying have forced Syrian people to take refuge in neighboring countries of Europe and Asia. In their move to leave their country quickly they often overload the boats which resulted in mid sea capsizing of boats. But their problems just not ends there. Many countries are refusing entry to them and if they are allowed in some countries they lived in conditions which made them wish to die in war than to escape and live in fear and disgust. The so called rich Arab countries which are making the biggest and tallest buildings are so poor on humanitarian front to let children die by refusing any refugees on their soil. The UK government who was also denying entry to refugees is now ready to accommodating them after public outcry on social sites on seeing Aylan's image at Bodrum coast. Germany is the only country in Europe which have no restrictions on entry of refugees.

Sometimes I wonder what is the role of United Nations in the world when they don't have any powers to save life of millions of innocent people dying in such wars? Why don't they provide safe passage to people who are willing to move out of war-zone for a better life? Why USA who put its nose in every world affair is not inter mediating in resolving Syrian crisis? The conditions in Syria have also give rise to influence of ISIS in that region which further adds to threat to the world.

We as humans have failed in becoming a decent species. Our ever increasing desires and ambitions have reduced this beautiful world to a place to vent out our frustrations. The children who are unaware of any ill happenings around them suffers the most in any crisis. A hands up image of a Syrian child after seeing a camera still haunts me it describes what type of live we are giving to our children and what kind of world we are making. I appeal to all the nations which are still unmoved by the refugee crisis to welcome them with open hearts. We often say that today's world is inter connected but I don't think people in India have any concern about what is going in that part of the world. Few channels and newspapers are giving time and space to this news.

A world without children wouldn't be a nice place to live. As humans we must stand up for the cause of humanity. Here in the end I would also like to pray for all the children of the world who are dying of hunger, violence and diseases. May God give them opportunity to live which we humans have snatched from them.

Salim-Suleiman's latest video song 'Khalipan' (The Void) written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Salim presents a horrifying image of world without children.
