Bharat Mata Ki Jay

Bharat Mata Ki Jay

Now 'Us versus Them' debate took a new turn with 'Bharat Mata Ki Jay' slogan. The controversy this time created by AIMIM chief and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi and with suspension of Waris Pathan an MLA of AIMIM from Maharashtra Assembly for not chanting this slogan the issue has taken an ugly turn.

I find nothing wrong in saying Bharat Mata Ki Jay which means Long Live Mother India and I also find nothing wrong if someone wants to say 'Jai Hind', 'Jai Bharat', 'India is Great', 'Hindustan Zindabad' etc instead of Bharat Mata Ki Jay because phrases doesn't define patriotism feelings does. A woman is respectful in all forms and not only as mother similarly are all other slogans equally respectable as Bharat Mata Ki Jay. Do other nations in the world which don't give a face to their motherland or which don't depict her as goddess loves their country less than us?  By relating her to Hinduism we are only sidelining all other communities as outsiders who need to follow this concept to prove adherence to their country.

We all know elections in five state assemblies are round the corner. Attempts are made to polarize the voters. BJP by commenting and reacting on Owaisi is helping in two way polarization to get benefit in coming polls. Chanting this slogan is not a life or death issue for Muslims, they are from years chanting this slogan without feeling offended. Even Vande Mataram is comfortable with millions of Muslims it becomes problem when someone force you to say this or try to make it a compulsion to affirm your identity as an Indian.

India is a multicultural country and constitution guarantees all their identity as a person and as a community no one is entitled to challenge it. We as Indians must not give these political parties opportunities to use us for their political gain and for Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi I have a suggestion to keep your views to yourself and not impose on all Muslims. Islam promotes love for motherland and if a slogan shows my love for my country I have no shame in saying it. I will end this post by repeating words from Javed Akhtar's Sahab's farewell speech that it is not my choice but my right to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jay'. Jai Hind. God Bless India.

Mere Dushman, Mere Bhai, Mere Humsaye

Mere Dushman, Mere Bhai, Mere Humsaye

Our only neighbor which is both a friend and a foe is Pakistan. Both nations never named this relationship of love and hate retribution of which faced by people of both the countries. The two nations with a common history have segregated their pasts in textbooks and in their functioning but few people on both the sides found it hard to digest. While few in India claims Pakistan and other countries of the subcontinent as part of erstwhile unified India (Akand Bharat) their counterparts in Pakistan demands Junagad,Kashmir,Hyderabad, Punjab to be merged in them.

The common people of both the countries are becoming puppets of each other's political conditions. The recent Indian government which have no clearly defined status on Pakistan have worsened the situation to a point that threat of war is looming in the country. This doesn't mean Pakistan is keen in resolving all issues, their internal problems and out of control terrorists are hanging like an Albatross around their neck. The recent cancellations of talks between NSA (National Security Adviser) of both countries is result of confusion in maintaining international images and their images at home. None but people of both the countries are suffering from this tense situation.

The decision made at political level affect border areas the most where destruction of property and human life due to shelling from both the sides happens. The trade, cultural and developmental loss faced by their people is beyond recognition. The hate-mongers of both sides in such a situation try to sell their propaganda of separation of hearts which result in inhumanity and insensitivity like celebrating the deaths of innocent people.

The governments of both the nations must talk on all issues including cross-border terrorism and Kashmir. The conversations without these issues would not bring any good to them. They must hear this Javed Akhtar written song music by Anu Malik and sung by Hariharan from the movie Border to calculate the risk of animosity.

Rape In Delhi

Rape In Delhi

We all get angry when things don't happen as it should be and than take out our frustrations on those who are responsible for that same as angry birds do with pigs in famous game series. We throw ourselves here and there, while in games it clear the stage but in real life it creates hurdle in our further movement and many times the main reason behind our anger go unnoticed.

Here I am talking about the rape incidents happened and happening in capital of India Delhi and futile demonstrations that follows. While people in anger protesting for death penalty for rape accused some political parties jump in them for political gains and thus turn the issue to some another level and then they blame each other, ask for resignations and so on. In this real issue get lost. Rape is not a Delhi problem but a problem for India, incidents happening in other parts of country are also heinous and painful but they don't get sympathy of these political parties because media coverage is low there.

The solution is still not available, factors responsible for rape are ignored, society responsibility for incidents is zero, police training for such sensitive situations is not provided and some of us are indifferent to the conditions. In patriarchal societies women are soft targets, they are not treated as equal to men and lots of burden and responsibilities are attached to them only, unless women are treated as human beings they will remain target to such crimes. Javed Akhtar's statement in Rajya Sabha is right in saying that there are many forms of women other than a mother which should also get equal respect as given to a mother in our culture, tradition and country.

The lesson of gender equality should be taught in schools. A death penalty will only kill criminal but not his crime which will remain alive in society even after his death. A person committing rape must be aware  what shameful act he has done. There should be a social boycott of such peoples and they must face public insult. We should be aware and alert about people around us and there intentions. Police verification of tenants is must, community gathering should be there to know our neighbours and there should be talks in families about such issues.
